About The Position

Bumble Inc. is looking for a Senior Manager of SEC Reporting and Technical Accounting to join our team! This person will be part of our SEC Reporting team, which owns the external reporting process and complex technical accounting areas. This is a critical role that requires extensive hands-on experience in SEC filings and technical accounting and strong cross-functional working skills. This is a fully remote role. Candidates based in the NYC metro area or Austin are preferred.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • CPA designation.
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in financial reporting, external audit, and/or accounting at a public company.
  • Deep knowledge of U.S. GAAP, particularly ASC 718 (stock-based compensation).
  • Strong Excel skills, including ability to manipulate large data sets and create advanced pivot tables.

Responsibilities

  • Own the preparation and timely filing of all external financial reports, including Forms 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, and other required SEC filings. This involves drafting financial statements, footnotes and MD&A sections and coordinating the review process with internal teams, external auditors, and legal counsel.
  • Review U.S. GAAP disclosure checklists to ensure completeness and compliance.
  • Serve as the primary administrator for the Workiva SEC reporting platform, including live filing of quarterly 10-Q/K and earnings press release 8-K.
  • Research accounting and reporting guidance to ensure our disclosures in public filings are complete and appropriate.
  • Review financial information in earnings release and assist in the preparation of materials for the Disclosure Committee, Audit Committee and senior leadership.
  • Own stock-based compensation accounting, including monitoring equity award activities, evaluating equity modifications, preparing quarterly journal entries, preparing financial statement footnote disclosures, preparing technical accounting memos and maintaining accounting policies.
  • Assist in annual impairment testing, including reviewing third party valuation reports and validating inputs used in the valuation.
  • Assist in EPS calculation.
  • Perform technical accounting research and prepare accounting memo on ad hoc transactions.
  • Serve as one of the critical owners of internal controls over financial reporting to ensure compliance with the SOX.
  • Help manage the audit process and fulfill information requests.
  • Assist in statutory reporting.
  • Identify and implement improvements to the financial reporting process to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and timeliness.
  • Partner with various teams, including FP&A, Legal, Treasury, Tax, Investor Relations and P&C to ensure timely financial reporting.
  • Manage and mentor one staff team member.
