About The Position

This role will act as a specialist business partner for the business reputation and responsibility (BRR) department on fire safety matters, supporting AMER Safety and Security to ensure robust implementations of and sound decision making in relation to IHG's fire safety requirements across the AMER portfolio.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Fire Safety/ Fire Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Five or more years of progressive work-related experience in fire safety.
• Subject matter expert in Fire Protection & Fire Safety Engineering.
• Experience in a business partner role on Fire Safety across a substantial geography.
• Experience in hotel, hospitality, events, retail, or similar sectors is desirable.
• Deep understanding of risk, assurance, and related concepts.
• Ability to understand stakeholder challenges and engage in win-win conversations.
• Experience in Project Management with the ability to manage complex data and projects.

Responsibilities

• Act as subject matter expert for Fire Brand Safety Standards within the Safety & Security (S&S) Team.
• Identify external insights that could drive review or improvement of IHG's arrangements regarding fire safety.
• Partner with the business to implement applicable requirements and risk management practices.
• Ensure compliance with IHG requirements and identify alternative risk management solutions.
• Support the wider S&S team and BRR community to build capability on fire safety & fire engineering.
• Develop and implement robust assurance processes to verify and monitor fire safety requirements.
• Provide proactive support to identify and respond to fire safety issues, including incident investigations.
• Work with Fire Safety Engineers to establish global ways of working and ensure consistency.
• Act as a key interface between BRR and internal stakeholders on fire safety matters.
• Manage suppliers of Fire Safety support services.
