About The Position

The Senior Manager - Retail Innovation & Design at The Walt Disney Company plays a pivotal role in researching consumer trends and developing innovative strategies for retail products. This position focuses on translating cultural dynamics and insights into actionable business opportunities, collaborating with various teams to enhance the Disney Parks Brands' offerings. The role requires a strong understanding of consumer behavior and the ability to create compelling visual narratives that resonate with audiences.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of related experience in product development, immersive retail design, and visual graphic storytelling.
  • Experience with design thinking methodologies, foresight, trend forecasting, and social listening.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in deciphering signals and trend identification to create actionable opportunities.
  • Diverse design skillset across graphics, 3-D design, product, environmental design, and themed entertainment design.
  • Deep knowledge of Disney Parks/DSE consumer and landscape.
  • Experience presenting and collaborating with teams across TWDC.
  • Knowledge of consumer behavioral trends and their translation to retail and product whitespace.
  • Proven analytical and innovation capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Drive business relevance and growth by identifying, forecasting, and articulating disruptive consumer culture and retail-specific landscape trends.
  • Synthesize, manage, and translate multiple data inputs into actionable insights using internal consumer data and social analysis.
  • Track and foster strategic signal spotting of Disney-specific behaviors and aesthetics to unlock trends and opportunities.
  • Monitor social listening platforms to maintain awareness of cultural dynamics and trends.
  • Develop and maintain a trend database with comprehensive reports and insights for cross-category teams.
  • Collaborate with partners across various teams to understand consumer trends and business opportunities.
  • Create dynamic creative outputs (graphics, videos, presentations) for organization-wide engagement.
  • Articulate concepts and initiatives through mood boards, pitch decks, and strategic roadmaps.
  • Champion consumer centricity to translate insights into broader business opportunities.
  • Collaborate with the Director on the development and execution of the Innovation pipeline.
