About The Position

The Senior Manager, Hardware Lifecycle Management, is part of Restaurant Infrastructure & Operations, reporting to the Senior Director. This individual will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to effectively lead the lifecycle of restaurant hardware assets, including point-of-sale (POS) systems, servers, digital menu boards, and other in-restaurant technology devices. This individual will partner closely with the Restaurant Hardware Solutions, Vendor Management, and Global Sourcing teams to provide tools, services, and consulting to assist market teams in planning, budgeting, and driving hardware lifecycle management activities. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced technology leader to help shape the transformation of infrastructure and operations products and services to the entire McDonald's environment.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of technical product management or relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree or 6+ years relevant experience with a Master's degree.
  • Demonstrable experience (8+ years) in hardware lifecycle management, preferably in a multi-location environment, such as the retail or restaurant industry.

Nice To Haves

  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft software SKUs and licensing models.
  • Knowledge of industry regulations and compliance standards related to hardware asset management, such as IT asset management (ITAM) frameworks or ISO 55000.
  • Experience in negotiating contracts and managing vendor relationships.
  • History of delivering results in a fast-paced, multi-location environment.
  • Deep understanding of global complexities and differences between markets / regions.

  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with a track record of building and developing high-performing teams.
  • In-depth knowledge of hardware lifecycle management principles, processes, including budgeting, procurement, deployment, tracking, maintenance, and retirement.
  • Familiarity with asset tracking systems and tools, such as IT service management (ITSM) software or configuration management databases (CMDB).
  • Demonstrated ability to drive clarity in technical areas from an unclear problem statement, understanding and discussing technical concepts, handling trade-offs, and evaluating potential concepts with internal and external partners.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to analyze complex data, identify trends, and propose effective solutions.
  • Project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and run multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent presentation and writing skills, with the ability to translate theory into practical application.
  • Ability to collaborate and build relationships across diverse partners, including technical and non-technical teams.
  • Understand customer centricity, and lead product / service evolution with that mentality.
