The purpose of this job is to set the strategic direction and execution of the national Rare Disease Specialist “RDS” team (externally contracted). Through this deployment, the incumbent will be accountable for driving regional success and attainment of national sales goals, setting key performance indicators/metrics, and identifying skill and capabilities necessary for success. It will be a key member of the SMA Sales Leadership Team, reporting directly to the Sr. Director of National Sales. - Sets national strategy and execution tactics for lead follow up and patient finding. Proactively partners in development and delivery of regional pilots and resourcing. - Identifies target candidate profiles and hold Ashfield (contract vendor) accountable to hiring, development and retention of high quality leadership (2 field leaders) and (16) rare disease specialists. - Aligns RDS strategy to current and future field excellence initiatives - Sets and executes sales communications strategy with national field organization. - Collaborates to conduct quarterly business reviews and drives execution of action items Ideal location is Boston but there is flexibility to consider other markets.
