About The Position

L3Harris is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Project Engineer Manager to join our Project Engineering Organization leadership team in Greenville, Texas. This pivotal role requires a seasoned professional with a deep understanding of engineering project management and a proven track record of successful project delivery in a highly technical and fast-paced environment. The Senior Project Engineer Manager will lead complex projects, mentor engineering teams, and drive strategic initiatives to support our company's growth and innovation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 12 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Graduate Degree and a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
  • In lieu of a degree, minimum of 16 years of prior related experience.
  • Abilitity to travel (10-25%) both CONUS & OCONUS.
  • Active TS/SCI Clearance is required.
  • Demonstrated experience in engineering project management, including demonstrated leadership roles.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage large-scale, complex engineering projects successfully.
  • Demonstrated organizational, strategic planning, and project management skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership and team development capabilities, with a focus on mentorship and professional growth.
  • Demonstrated ability to interface effectively with stakeholders at all levels including internal/external executive leadership.
  • Demonstrated experience with project management software and tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Jira, Confluence or similar).
  • Demonstrated ability to drive continuous improvement and innovation in project management practices.
  • Demonstrated experience with the one or more of the following areas is required:

  • Successful Requirements Management using tools such as DOOR’s and/or JAMA.
  • Full understanding and experience with Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaisance (ISR) Products and Platforms.
  • Architecting airborne mission system configurations to meet customer needs.
  • Aircraft integration experience related to coordinating integration and test plans of multiple mission and non-mission systems on airborne platforms, including Boeing, Rotary Wing, Gulfstream, King Air & similar platforms.
  • Aircraft logistical sustainment and in-the-field aircraft modification.
  • Subcontract technical requirements management & technical oversight.

Responsibilities

  • Project Leadership: Oversee highly complex and large-scale Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaisance (ISR) Sector engineering programs throughout the life-cycle to include; concept through completion, ensuring alignment with company goals and customer requirements.
  • Strategic Planning: Develop and implement comprehensive project plans, including scope, budget, timelines, and resource allocation. Ensure that projects meet all technical and business objectives.
  • Team Development: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing engineering team. Provide guidance and support to engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as the primary liaison for project stakeholders, including clients, senior executives, and cross-functional teams. Communicate project progress, risks, and strategies effectively.
  • Opportunity & Risk Management: Identify potential opportunities & risks and develop robust mitigation plans. Utilize advanced analytical skills to anticipate and address challenges proactively.
  • Quality Control: Ensure that all project deliverables meet the highest standards of quality and comply with policies and procedures; utilizing Sector approved tools and guidance.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the project management process. Identify and implement best practices to enhance efficiency, productivity, and project outcomes.
  • Budget Management: Manage project budgets and manpower demand/supply, ensuring program financial goals are met. Monitor expenditures and implement cost-saving measures where appropriate.
  • Performance Metrics: Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure project success and team performance. Use data-driven insights to make informed decisions.
