We are looking for an experienced professional to help us rapidly scale our operations while ensuring that we maintain the reputation our company has earned over the past 50-plus years. The Senior Manager of Production’s responsibilities will include management and oversight of production, repair/rework, and sustainment activities with a focus on improving first pass quality and improving efficiencies. The successful candidate will be able to provide examples of success in the following areas: Demonstrated experience managing teams in a high-mix, complex manufacturing environment. Proven success driving daily production performance, troubleshooting issues, and leading floor-level execution. Experience supporting or directly supervising hourly employees. Working knowledge of lean manufacturing principles, problem-solving methodologies, and continuous improvement tools.

Requirements

  • This position must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements. To meet U.S. export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university ; and five to seven years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of operations/production planning experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years in process mapping, documentation, and end-user training.
  • Minimum of 5 years of direct people management experience.
  • Solid knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and change management.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups and/or board of directors.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel and Outlook, Visio, PDM, Syspro, in-house Quality Data Base, Solid Edge Viewer, Solid Works Viewer.

Responsibilities

  • Manage employees performing activities in multiple manufacturing disciplines.
  • Develops and executes business plans and develops organizational and technical strategies.
  • Focus on first pass quality. Refine processes that ensure quality products and work with the team to execute enablers that remove time and errors from our builds.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports.
  • Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes.
  • Ensure effective and compliant work instructions, training requirements, equipment management, and facilities.
  • Manages, develops and motivates employees.
  • Remove barriers and drive adherence to daily delivery commitments.
  • Conduct daily tiered meetings and manage escalation paths to maintain communication and flow across upstream and downstream operations.
  • Lead stabilization initiatives to address chronic bottlenecks, high-defect processes, and supplier-driven variability.
  • Provide coaching and operational leadership to supervisors, leads, and hourly team members across the value stream.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, safety, continuous improvement, and collaboration.
  • Support change adoption relating to automation, process redesign, organizational shifts, and performance expectations.
  • Work closely with engineering, quality, supply chain, and operations leaders to ensure production goals are met.
