As a GE Appliances’ Senior Manager, Product - Unitary HVAC, Residential, you’ll serve as a recognized subject matter expert for the residential ducted unitary HVAC portfolio and be responsible for driving product execution, lifecycle management, and commercial performance across assigned product lines. This role contributes directly to the development and execution of product plans and multi-year roadmaps, partnering closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Sourcing, Sales, and Marketing to ensure products are delivered on time, on cost, and aligned to customer and business needs. Operating with limited oversight, the Senior Manager, Product bridges technical development and market requirements to deliver profitable, competitive solutions within the broader Air & Water Ecosystem’s strategy. Requirements

  • Knowledge of residential ducted unitary HVAC products, technologies, regulatory requirements, and market dynamics sufficient to support product definition, NPI execution, and lifecycle management.
  • Working knowledge of product management processes, cost structures, and value drivers to support product line performance and profitability.
  • Skill in contributing to product strategies and multi-year roadmaps and translating strategic direction into clear product requirements and execution priorities.
  • Ability to identify and drive product, feature, cost, and lifecycle initiatives with measurable impact on product and commercial performance.
  • Skill in resolving frequently difficult, but rarely complex, product and execution issues across development, NPI, supply continuity, and commercialization.
  • Ability to evaluate technical, cost, timing, risk, and customer tradeoffs to support timely, data-informed product decisions.
  • Skill in leading and aligning cross-functional teams to deliver committed product and program outcomes without direct authority.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders through clear communication of product priorities, requirements, and data-driven insights.
  • Ability to own execution of assigned product initiatives from concept through launch and sustainment, ensuring alignment to cost, schedule, quality, and performance targets.
  • Skill in supporting commercialization activities, including pricing inputs, launch readiness, and sales enablement, in partnership with Sales and Product Marketing.
  • Ability to provide direction, coordination, and review of work for supporting team members and extended cross-functional contributors involved in product execution.
  • Skill in delegating work and providing feedback to ensure effective execution and accountability.
  • Ability to apply practical product management experience to independently deliver results within an assigned product portfolio under general supervision.
  • Ability to adapt priorities and execution plans in response to changing business needs, market conditions, and operational constraints.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or product management, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in product management, engineering, sales, or a related discipline.

Nice To Haves

  • HVAC industry experience strongly preferred.
  • Advanced degree (MBA, MS Engineering, or similar).
  • Experience supporting NPI execution across global teams and suppliers.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the product owner and subject matter expert for assigned residential ducted unitary HVAC product lines.
  • Contribute to the development and execution of multi-year product roadmaps, ensuring alignment with business strategy and adjacent Air & Water portfolios.
  • Manage full product lifecycle activities, including product planning, new product introduction (NPI), sustainment, and end-of-life transitions.
  • Drive product line profitability through disciplined feature prioritization, cost targets, and value propositions, in alignment with functional goals.
  • Drive cross-functional alignment and execution for NPI programs, partnering with Technology from concept through production launch and post-launch support.
  • Lead cross-functional execution across engineering, quality, manufacturing, sourcing, regulatory, and suppliers to deliver approved product specifications, agency certifications, and launch readiness.
  • Identify and resolve complex technical, commercial, and execution challenges that arise during development and launch.
  • Drive cross-functional alignment and execution to deliver committed product and program outcomes.
  • Provide direction, coaching, and review of work for supporting team members and extended team contributors involved in product execution.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for product-related decisions within the assigned portfolio.
  • Partner with Sales and Product Marketing to translate market insights into product requirements, MGPDs, and NPI plans.
  • Support commercialization activities, including pricing inputs, channel strategy considerations, and launch readiness.
  • Contribute to the development of customer-facing materials such as sell sheets, installation guides, service documentation, and training content.
  • Support major industry and distributor trade shows (e.g., AHR, IBS, HARDI, ACCA, regional distributor events).
  • Collaborate with PSI and Sales teams to support product availability, inventory objectives, and smooth product transitions.
  • Support forecasting, lifecycle transitions, and issue resolution related to supply continuity and customer impact.
