About The Position

The Senior Manager - Product Planning will lead strategic planning for Hyundai's commercial vehicle portfolio in North America, which includes vans, heavy-duty trucks, and buses. This role involves collaboration with cross-functional teams such as marketing, R&D, sales, engineering, finance, and manufacturing to define products that meet the evolving needs of customers and the market. The position aligns with Hyundai's corporate goal of delivering the best vehicles for the North American customer through regional technical leadership and local/global collaboration.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science Degree.
  • 15+ years of relevant experience in the automotive industry.
  • 5+ years of demonstrated experience in product planning.
  • 5+ years of experience managing product planners.
  • Strong data-driven decision-making abilities.
  • Proficiency in planning, executing, and monitoring projects.
  • Excellent written communication and presentation skills.
  • Flexibility in handling multiple projects and changing priorities.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of product strategy for Hyundai's van and heavy-duty truck segments in North America.
  • Conduct in-depth market research, analyze customer needs, and track competitive activity to identify trends, opportunities, and potential threats.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive product roadmap, prioritizing product features, updates, and innovations.
  • Drive initiatives focused on innovation, particularly in electrification, autonomy, and connectivity.
  • Provide regular updates to senior management on product strategies and key milestones.
  • Facilitate collaboration and knowledge sharing throughout the division and with counterparts in Headquarters and Namyang in Korea.
  • Support the North American Regional Headquarters with customer product inquiries.
  • Lead the creation and presentation of project status and technical reports.
  • Develop and manage the department's strategies, plans, human resources, and budgets.
  • Mentor direct reports.
