Senior Manager, Product Development

Kitsch LLCLos Angeles, CA
Hybrid

About The Position

As the Senior Manager, Product Development, you are here to own and drive the full product development lifecycle for Kitsch's Sleep, Spa, Hair Accessories, and Consumable Accessories categories. This isn't just about managing a process—it’s about owning a portfolio of approximately 100 active SKUs and leading a team to ensure every product is on-trend, commercially grounded, and beautifully executed. You are a seasoned leader with a refined eye who can look at a product and know if it reads elevated or cheap. You thrive on autonomy, taking full accountability for your categories without needing constant upward direction. You will report directly to the VP of Product & Assortment Strategy.

Requirements

  • Extensive Experience: Proven track record in product development, specifically managing complex portfolios and international teams.
  • A Refined Eye: You know when a color is right, when a design is "too much," and how to achieve simplicity at the right price point.
  • Strategic & Proactive: You don't wait for timelines to turn red; you see trends early and bring solutions to the table.
  • Deeply Organized: You are a master of project management tools (Asana) and physical sample organization.
  • Strong Communicator: You can defend your point of view to leadership while taking feedback from sales and buyers without ego.

Responsibilities

  • Category Ownership: Independently lead the Sleep, Spa, and Accessories categories, ensuring timelines stay on track and nothing falls through the cracks.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and coach a team of international coordinators, developing them to run factory communications and timelines independently by month 3.
  • Sample & Production Excellence: Own the sample pipeline and T.O.P. (Top of Production) approvals. This includes visiting the warehouse downtown for physical quality checks when production matching is required.
  • Strategic Innovation: Proactively bring at least 2 new product briefs per quarter based on market opportunities and Kitsch’s customer needs—not just in response to planning cycles.
  • Financial Accountability: Ensure every product in your portfolio hits target margins at the costing sign-off stage; no surprises at production.
  • Operational Standards: Maintain a gold-standard Asana board and sample library that is so organized any colleague can walk in and immediately understand a project's status.
  • Commercial Collaboration: Deliver monthly category reviews with a clear point of view, integrating sales performance, trends, and actionable recommendations.
  • Decisive Approval: Make the final call on pre-production samples with a deep understanding of what that approval means for the final line.
