About The Position

Scribe is seeking a Design Leader to help expand Scribe’s product experience with a focus on user value, business impact, and love of the craft. Key responsibilities for this role include managing and growing a team of high-performing Product Designers, Marketing Designers, Brand Designers, and Design Engineers. The role requires a player-coach mindset, which means both managing people and overseeing the execution of the work by diving into the details. The Design Leader will partner with Product and Engineering counterparts to define design's role in the overall company strategy and drive execution through a roadmap. They will lead Design Rituals like critiques and sprints by establishing design principles and review processes to ensure consistency and quality across the product. The goal is to raise the bar for craft and quality across visual design, interaction, UX, and content, while staying focused on user needs and company goals.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience designing products that customers love.
  • 3+ years of managing high-performing design teams.
  • Curiosity and a desire to understand issues deeply.
  • Low ego and willingness to get involved in design projects.
  • Ability to translate business needs into design initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of product and engineering disciplines.
  • Attention to detail in delivering end-to-end user experiences.
  • Focus on creating user value and knowing when to apply design frameworks.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience designing for new 0-to-1 products.
  • Experience working with and contributing to strong design systems.
  • Experience with GitHub pull requests and providing feedback on code.
  • Proven track record of hiring and coaching strong designers.

Responsibilities
