About The Position

The Senior Manager, Product Engineering is responsible for the overall administration and management of the engineering support and liaison necessary to maintain required levels of production and performance of products across manufacturing locations. This includes engineering changes, cost reductions, product “specials”, tooling approvals, minimization of scrap, prevention of production holds, product complaints and implementation of corrective actions. This role is also responsible for compliance and reporting for various government and environmental regulations.  #LI-BB2 A Day In The LifeEvery day at Hubbell is different and you’ll contribute in many ways. On any given day, you’ll make a difference by: Leading a team of direct reports, and planning and executing strategic goals for teams.  Providing direction, assigning, and reviewing the work of product support engineers.    Providing sound and timely analysis of manufacturing problems.  Providing support for environmental management including RoHS, REACH, and any other new or government regulations.  Providing support for other regional and government regulations such as Country of Origin, NAFTA, Conflict Minerals, California Prop 65, etc.  Maintaining databases for tracking department workflow including EC’s, PMR’s and MTO’s.  Maintaining a current knowledge of UL, CSA and other standards requirements applicable to Hubbell products. Reviewing engineering change requests for existing products.  Creating engineering changes and implementing corrective actions as required.  Investigating and making recommendations for cost reduction.  Evaluating and implementing PMR’s or “Specials” as needed.  Assessing requests for product “deviations”.  Evaluating and implementing minor redesign projects or “PER’s”.  Evaluating replacement tooling first piece inspection reports.  Assisting Manager of Certification in the maintenance of third-party certifications and file reviews.  Aiding in the analysis of product failures from the field.  What will help you thrive in this role?BS Degree in Engineering (required) BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred  Ten to fifteen years in Design and Engineering support of Electro-Mechanical products (required)  Minimum five years supervision experience  Knowledge of production techniques, high-volume plastic molding, metal stamping engineering materials, drafting and documentation procedures  Working knowledge of certification standards such as UL, CSA, etc.

Requirements

  • BS Degree in Engineering (required)
  • Ten to fifteen years in Design and Engineering support of Electro-Mechanical products (required)
  • Minimum five years supervision experience
  • Knowledge of production techniques, high-volume plastic molding, metal stamping engineering materials, drafting and documentation procedures
  • Working knowledge of certification standards such as UL, CSA, etc.
  • Ability to quickly analyze and solve problems independently
