The Senior Manager, Procurement, Contract Manufacturing is responsible for developing global sourcing strategies for all Electronic Contract Manufacturing. This role will provide leadership for indirect reports and display critical thinking and expertise of Contract Manufacturing cost and operational structures to advance Baxter Global Business Units (GBUs) mission agenda to Sustain and Save Lives. The role involves supplier relationship management, pricing, and risk assessment, developing and implementing strategies for multi-sourcing and assurance of supply, and leading negotiations and contracting. The individual will develop robust category strategies to reduce the supply base, dependence on single/sole sourced suppliers, ensure continuity of supply, and deliver annual cost reductions (MIP and PPV objectives). They will also partner with supplier quality to address issues, and with R&D to mitigate risk and improve supplier systems. The role focuses on using technology, VA/VE, and purchasing power to reduce overall cost of ownership through strategic negotiation and optimization of supplier agreements. It also involves leading a cross-functional, cross-divisional commodity team to develop and implement strategies and goals for assigned commodities, covering contract ownership, quality assurance, technology/new product development, risk mitigation, and total cost, extending through the global supply chain including primary and sub-tier suppliers. Effective management of long-term relationships with suppliers and internal partners is also key.
