About The Position

As the Senior Manager, Procurement – Warehousing at Smithfield Foods, you will spearhead strategic sourcing initiatives for transportation services across all modes—road, rail, air, and sea. Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year college or university and 8+ years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience, required.
• 2+ years of demonstrated experience in team management/development or project leadership is required.
• Extensive background in strategic procurement or logistics, with a focus on warehousing operations, vendor management, and service execution.
• Demonstrated success in leading complex negotiations and managing contracts with warehousing providers and third-party logistics partners.
• Deep understanding of warehousing markets, inventory management principles, and compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
• Proficiency in procurement tools and analytics platforms (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Tableau).
• Strong interpersonal, leadership, and stakeholder engagement skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead sourcing initiatives for warehousing services, including vendor selection, contract negotiation, and supplier relationship management to support operational efficiency and scalability.
• Analyze warehousing spend and market dynamics to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve overall supply chain performance.
• Work closely with logistics, operations, and finance teams to ensure warehousing procurement strategies align with broader business objectives.
• Establish and monitor KPIs for warehouse service providers, ensuring adherence to performance standards, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements.
• Drive continuous improvement in procurement processes and systems, mitigate operational risks by diversifying the supplier base, and develop contingency plans for critical warehousing functions.
• Drives a positive employee experience through leadership by way of employee development and coaching.
