About The Position

The Process Optimization & Enablement team is dedicated to streamlining and enhancing the end-to-end Staples Own Brand product creation and change processes. By fostering deep cross-functional collaboration, we drive systematic improvements that deliver complete, sellable goods efficiently across all channels. Our team embeds data-driven decision-making, strengthens execution, and champions operational excellence within the Private Brands ecosystem—ensuring faster time-to-market, higher quality, and improved customer outcomes. As Senior Manager, Process Optimization & Enablement, you will play a pivotal role in transforming how Staples Own Brand products are developed, changed, and launched. You will lead enterprise-level initiatives that reduce cycle times, elevate quality, and enable scalable growth. This position empowers you to influence cross-functional teams, embed continuous improvement into daily operations, and deliver measurable business impact across merchandising and private brands.

Requirements

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate insights into actionable solutions for end-to-end process improvement
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management, capable of influencing without direct authority and enabling change adoption
  • Proven leadership in driving milestones, closure, and sustained adoption through collaborative teamwork
  • Root-cause orientation and a talent for designing scalable, customer-centric solutions that improve sellability and readiness
  • Experience facilitating training, workshops, and cross-functional initiatives that elevate operational standards
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Business, Operations, Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field
  • 8+ years in process improvement, operations, project management, or business optimization
  • Experience applying Lean, Six Sigma, or structured problem-solving frameworks.
  • Demonstrated success in leading cross-functional initiatives and enabling change adoption.
  • Experience with workflow and process design, mapping and/or automation.

Nice To Haves

  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Cert. (preferred) or Black Belt Cert. (highly preferred)
  • Master’s degree (MBA, MS in Operations/Analytics/Engineering) preferred
  • 2+ years supporting Private Brands, CPG, retail product development, or product lifecycle management processes
  • Experience working with PLM/PIM/item master/workflow systems and delivering tooling enhancements (automation, validation rules, integrations, alerts)
  • Background in process mining or advanced operational analytics (e.g., event logs, bottleneck analytics, throughput/cycle time decomposition)
  • Demonstrated success leading organizational change in dynamic environments

  • Applying Six Sigma or related methodologies and process mapping to identify root causes, implement improvements, and raise quality standards.
  • Leading automation and tooling enhancement initiatives to reduce manual effort and improve accuracy.
  • Driving change management strategies, training, and rollout across stakeholder teams, ensuring adoption of new workflows and standards.
  • Delivering measurable improvements in project turnaround time, cross-functional alignment, and operational excellence.
