About The Position

This role has dual responsibilities: Budget Leadership (45%) - Maintain, update, and forecast the technology budget, partnering closely with accounting and leadership to ensure financial accuracy, cost optimization, and strategic investment. Project & Portfolio Leadership (55%) - Drive business outcomes by leading our technology projects, and the project management team, ensuring delivery excellence across high-visibility initiatives. In this position, you will: Lead and influence cross-functional stakeholders to deliver technological initiatives that drive operational performance and measurable business value. Transform and streamline project tracking and portfolio workflows across the organization. Develop, mentor, and empower a team of IT Product and Project Managers. Drive efficiencies, optimize spending, and eliminate waste while ensuring our most important initiatives achieve their intended benefits We're looking for someone who has mastered the discipline of project management and is ready to expand their impact - shaping strategy, driving business outcomes, and championing change across the enterprise.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution; advanced degree a plus.
  • 10+ years of experience in IT project management, PMO leadership, or related disciplines.
  • 5+ years of people-leadership experience, including coaching, mentoring, and performance management.
  • Proven track record of managing multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with strong attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Demonstrated ability to proactively drive high-priority initiatives with minimal oversight.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages to varied audiences.
  • Proficiency with modern project management platforms (e.g., Jira, Salesforce, Airtable) and data visualization/reporting tools.
  • Comfort working with data sets, with the ability to extract insights and inform decision-making.

Nice To Haves

  • Project management certifications preferred (e.g., PMP, Six Sigma, Agile, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Own and manage the technology department budget, including annual planning, monthly variance analysis, invoice oversight, and contract/vendor management. Partner closely with accounting and internal teams to ensure financial accuracy and operational efficiency.
  • Serve as a strategic change agent, driving the evaluation, selection, and delivery of high-impact technology and business initiatives.
  • Lead, develop, and mentor IT PMO staff, ensuring strong project delivery capabilities, career growth, and alignment with organizational goals.
  • Recommend and implement improved processes, tools, and technology solutions to advance operational efficiency, governance, and project execution.
  • Oversee successful delivery of the full project portfolio, with direct responsibility for employee and consultant project managers executing initiatives across the enterprise.
  • Maintain and continuously enhance PMO methodologies, processes, and portfolio management tools/technologies.
  • Partner effectively with IT, Business, and Clinical leaders to gather updates, escalate risks, drive decisions, remove blockers, and maintain alignment on priorities.
  • Proactively drive high-priority initiatives forward with minimal direction, ensuring timelines, dependencies, and deliverables are tightly managed.
  • Create and manage clear, concise reports, dashboards, and communication channels to keep leadership informed of progress, risks, and outcomes.
