About The Position

The Senior Manager, Packaging position is responsible for managing continuous improvement and packaging innovation by reviewing and analyzing internal processes to highlight opportunities for cost reductions and process efficiencies. The role involves developing and continually reviewing objectives that refine business processes to maximize end-to-end efficiency and customer value, keeping up-to-date on technology and packaging industry standards, and managing packaging solutions and requirements to address innovation in distribution automation. The manager will work upstream to reduce packaging issues by key stakeholders and drive the execution of multiple business plans and projects by identifying customer and operational needs, developing and communicating business plans and priorities, and removing barriers that impact performance. Additionally, the role includes managing packaging production, evaluating and appointing packaging resources, analyzing key metrics, and leading cost negotiations in support of new and existing packaging elements. The manager will also oversee the development of packaging copy content for Walmart US private brands, resolve issues with packaging content, and ensure business needs are being met by evaluating the ongoing effectiveness of current plans and programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or related field.
  • 4 years of experience in marketing, branding, packaging, retail, or related experience, or 6 years of relevant experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with quantitative and strategic analyses.
  • Familiarity with coding tools like Big Query and Looker.
  • Ability to write technical documents detailing business needs.
  • Experience with Cause and Effect Analysis, FMEA, and Risk Prioritization.
  • Knowledge of robotic systems and packaging conveyance.
  • Experience with design tools like ArtiosCAD, AutoCAD, and TOPS.
  • Understanding of packaging materials, printing, and barcoding.
  • Experience in testing packaging within ISTA, SIOC, and ASTM standards.
