As a leader of the firm, the Powered by Centri Senior Manager will demonstrate excellent project management skills, client service, and positive coaching to the team members in developing technical and professional competency.

Requirements

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with an emphasis on Excel skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent required.
  • CPA Certified
  • 9+ years of relative accounting experience; at least 1 in public accounting or professional services highly preferred.
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift items up to 30 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

  • High-level and in-depth understanding of accounting concepts and ability to explain and teach to staff.
  • Sign off on the audit workbook. Ensure any enhancements to the process and or changes made are effectively communicated.
  • Complete understanding of accounting concepts in guiding the clients; working with client team to ensure proper review of the cash management reporting.
  • Perform and lead all PBC concepts, including performing in depth variance analysis.
  • Work with managers to enhance and streamline the onboarding process.
  • Audit/tax prep lead in terms of facilitating process with outside CPA.
  • Review and ensure completion of budget/forecast related activities and build templates.
  • Review and address any manger questions related to the clints cash flow model.
  • Review client tax returns before having client CFO/COO/CEO review to ensure all numbers tie out to QB.
  • Perform detailed review of work product completed and assess for accuracy of more complex financial statement areas and identify disclosures which are inaccurate/incomplete.
  • Identify more complex scope problems that may arise within the engagement, as well as opportunities for ancillary service offerings. Bring them to the attention of the engagement director and begin expanding engagement opportunities.
  • Communicate to the Engagement Leaders and team of progress, responsibilities.
  • Lead all client meetings and/or calls independently in accordance with the project plan. With the assistance of the Engagement Managing Director and/or Partner, facilitate calls with the SEC, client auditors, client legal counsel, etc. as deemed necessary to accomplish project goals.
  • Responsible for confirming with the Manager or if no Manager with Finance that retainer has been received before engagement work begins.
  • Leadership responsibilities include building in person connections with the team, peers, and senior leaders in the Firm.
  • Participate in the performance process to provide feedback for team members. Identifying additional training or parts of engagements that are beneficial for team members education. Reaching out to Human Resources when potential issues arise.
  • Continue coaching the team to share knowledge and develop them for the next level.
  • Develop training presentations on accounting topics in connection with the CPE committee and present to the team in a lunch and learn format for CPE training credits.
  • Accurately schedule the team to align with project plan. Weekly review of all time on assigned engagements. Timely update of team schedules that align with shifts in project timeline. Appropriate and accurate completion of project plans at the deliverable level. Regular review of engagement health. Ensuring that each component of the project has the appropriate leverage.
  • Review utilization for yourself and all direct reports align with expectations.
  • Oversee a managed book of $1,500,000 in revenue.
  • Support Firm initiatives and development opportunities.
  • Work to build relationships and promote collaboration in a hybrid environment.
