Senior Manager of Subrogation Claims

About the position

As a Senior Manager of Subrogation Claims, you will lead the operational and strategic functions of the new high value subrogation claims team, overseeing 4-5 senior claims agents and maintaining relationships with third-party subrogation vendors and debt collection agencies.

Responsibilities

• Manage and mentor a team of senior claims professionals, fostering a culture of technical excellence and accountability.
• Collaborate with third-party vendors and debt collection agencies to optimize service delivery and cost efficiency.
• Monitor vendor performance and ensure adherence to service level agreements.
• Supervise subrogation processes, ensuring compliance with state laws and company policies.
• Oversee financial metrics and recovery performance, driving continuous improvement in operational workflows.
• Provide oversight into complex claims, including investigations, liability analysis, and settlement negotiations including total loss valuations.
• Define and track departmental KPIs, creating actionable strategies for performance improvement.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in subrogation claims or related fields, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
• Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Business Administration, Insurance, or a related field (preferred).
• Proficient in claims management systems.
• Familiarity with US subrogation laws.
• Experience with total loss and high value subrogation claims.
• Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making abilities.
• Success-oriented and willing to take on multiple tasks.
