About The Position

The Senior Manager of Revenue Accounting is the technical owner of all revenue accounting matters, with deep responsibility for ASC 606 compliance, revenue close accuracy, and SOX controls. This role sits hybrid, in our Englewood, CO office. This is a builder role—not a maintainer. You will define policies, implement scalable processes, and ensure audit-ready execution across a complex SaaS and On-Premise revenue environment. You will partner closely with Finance, Sales, Legal, and external auditors to ensure revenue is accounted for correctly, consistently, and defensibly.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • CPA required (active preferred)
  • 8+ years of accounting experience, including 3–5+ years of ASC 606 in SaaS or software
  • 2–3+ years in a Manager or leadership role
  • Deep expertise in multi-element revenue arrangements and ASC 606 application
  • Strong SOX controls experience (design, testing, documentation)
  • Experience with Oracle ERP and revenue close processes
  • Experience working with Big 4 auditors
  • Proven ability to build or improve accounting processes in high-growth environments
  • Strong written communication skills (audit-ready technical memos)

  • Experience with revenue automation tools (NetSuite RMCS, Zuora, etc.)
  • Exposure to private equity-backed environments and sponsor reporting

Responsibilities

  • Own all aspects of revenue recognition under ASC 606 across SaaS, On-Prem licenses, PCS, and bundled arrangements
  • Review contracts to identify performance obligations, pricing allocation, and recognition methodology
  • Lead Standalone Selling Price (SSP) methodology and ongoing updates
  • Evaluate and document complex or non-standard deal structures
  • Prepare technical accounting memos for judgmental or material transactions
  • Own and maintain the company’s revenue recognition policy
  • Own monthly revenue close, including deferred revenue, unbilled AR, and journal entries
  • Ensure subledger to GL reconciliation with zero aged discrepancies
  • Prepare full revenue reporting package (by product, geography, contract type)
  • Perform variance analysis and partner with FP&A on budget vs. actuals
  • Manage revenue cut-off procedures and ensure period accuracy
  • Identify and correct historical revenue issues (recasts, audit support)
  • Design and execute all revenue-related SOX controls (ICFR)
  • Maintain control matrix aligned to financial statement risks
  • Ensure documentation meets audit and PCAOB standards
  • Serve as primary contact for auditors on revenue controls
  • Identify and remediate control gaps proactively
  • Drive zero repeat audit findings
  • Own revenue accounting configuration within Oracle Cloud ERP
  • Partner with IT on system changes and implementations
  • Evaluate and implement revenue automation tools (e.g., NetSuite RMCS)
  • Improve reporting structures and automate manual processes
  • Ensure system outputs support PE-level reporting requirements
  • Own allowance for doubtful accounts under ASC 310 / CECL (ASC 326)
  • Maintain and update credit loss methodology
  • Partner with AR and Collections on aging and write-offs
  • Ensure defensible bad debt estimates aligned with revenue policies
  • Build and deliver standardized reporting for Thoma Bravo (ARR, MRR, retention, etc.)
  • Support financial statement disclosures (RPO, contract assets/liabilities, etc.)
  • Maintain audit-ready documentation and support external audits
  • Partner with leadership on sponsor and Board reporting
  • Partner with Sales, Legal, and Ops on deal structuring
  • Collaborate with FP&A and Tax on revenue-related matters
  • Manage and develop accounting team members
  • Build SOPs and scalable processes across revenue accounting
