About The Position

The Senior Manager of Manufacturing & Industrial Solutions at Apex Waste Solutions is responsible for driving new business development by identifying, prospecting, and acquiring manufacturing, industrial, and large-scale commercial construction customers. This role focuses on selling MSW, special waste, recycling, and total waste stream management solutions, while directing waste streams to Apex disposal assets and building long-term customer relationships. A key component of this role includes developing and maintaining high-level relationships with commercial building contractors, developers, and construction management firms to secure project-based and ongoing waste service opportunities. The position requires a hunter mentality, strong consultative selling skills, and close collaboration with internal operations and pricing teams to deliver compliant, cost-effective waste solutions across both permanent facilities and active job sites.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Construction Management, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • 7+ years of successful B2B new business development experience within manufacturing, industrial, commercial construction, or environmental services markets.
  • Demonstrated hunter mentality with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding revenue and volume targets.
  • Experience selling MSW, special waste, recycling, C&D, or integrated waste management solutions preferred.
  • Existing relationships with commercial building contractors, developers, general contractors, or construction management firms strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing operations, industrial facilities, and construction job site waste requirements.
  • Working knowledge of federal, state, and local solid waste, landfill, recycling, and construction-related regulations.
  • Ability to deliver consultative, solution-based sales presentations to decision-makers at all levels.
  • Experience partnering with internal operations, pricing, and compliance teams to deliver cost-effective, compliant solutions.
  • Proficiency with CRM systems for pipeline management and sales activity tracking.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Self-motivated, results-driven, and comfortable working independently within a defined territory.
  • Willingness to travel as required; valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively identify, prospect, and close new manufacturing, industrial, and commercial construction business to meet or exceed targeted revenue and volume goals.
  • Develop and maintain strategic relationships with commercial building contractors, developers, and construction management firms to drive project-based and recurring waste service opportunities.
  • Develop and execute territory-specific new business strategies aligned with Apex Waste’s growth objectives.
  • Drive disposal volume by securing new waste streams for Apex facilities, including construction and demolition-related materials where applicable.
  • Prepare and deliver solution-based sales presentations tailored to manufacturing, industrial, and commercial construction customer needs.
  • Grow and retain accounts through ongoing relationship management and expansion of services following initial acquisition.
  • Maintain accurate pipeline, prospect, contractor, and activity records in the Company CRM.
  • Monitor market and competitive trends to anticipate customer needs and adjust sales approach.
  • Conduct proactive pricing, retention, and service communications in coordination with sales leadership.
  • Maintain working knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local regulations related to solid waste, landfill disposal, and construction-related waste streams.
  • Represent Apex Waste at industry events, trade shows, construction and contractor association meetings, and company-sponsored activities.
  • Complete all CSAs, CRM entries, and required sales documentation accurately and on time.
  • Support collections efforts and respond to service cancellation requests in accordance with Company policies.
