About The Position

The Senior Manager of Development is a pivotal role at Good360, intended to forge and develop deep and multi-faceted partnerships with socially responsible corporations. This role will develop and drive donor-specific strategies to spur donations of physical product and other assets that Good360’s network of vetted nonprofits can use to support those in need in communities in need across the U.S. and in other regions. The successful candidate will understand how to build long-term relationships based on multiple sources of value and will have significant experience and a strong track record leading similar business development activities for a growth-oriented organization. They also possesses demonstrated business acumen, an ability to contribute to and align with overall organizational strategy, an ability to build relationships both inside and outside the organization, and a desire to be a key part of a mission-driven organization. This role reports to the Vice President of Corporate Development & Partnership and is accountable for establishing and deepening partnerships with corporations to advance Good360’s mission to close the need gap to open opportunity for all. This individual will establish important internal connections in order to identify opportunities for in-kind giving partnerships that support Good360’s overall organizational strategy. Externally, they will also leverage existing relationships as well as build new connections, guiding Good360 to effectively engage in-kind donation partners and prospects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field required or equivalent experience.
  • 5-7 years of relevant business development experience.
  • Proven track record and success leading account development activities for corporation or nonprofits.
  • Proven ability to network and develop critical partnerships to strengthen and further an organizational agenda, including direct experience securing significant new business relationships.
  • Established relationships with decision makers at relevant corporations (that have appropriate product and/or other resources to donate).
  • Proven business acumen, including an understanding of the marketplace, competitors, and trends in giving.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully manage an account portfolio and collaborate strategically with individuals and teams at all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, specifically the ability to communicate organizational value in a clear and inspiring manner.
  • Ability to manage multiple time-sensitive projects simultaneously, across different divisions/departments.
  • Competent networker with a positive and persuasive personality.
  • Ability to convey passion for the organizational mission and impact.
  • Strong research skills.
  • Ability to travel to meet with partners, attend conferences, and similar.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Vice President of Corporate Development & Partnerships to build a development portfolio of corporate partners (e.g. retailers, brands, manufacturers and other) that donate needed goods (as well as other forms of support) to Good360 in order to help close the need gap.
  • Manage and develop relationships with existing small to mid-size corporate partners, ensuring their continued satisfaction and engagement with Good360’s mission.
  • Develop strategic plans for the acquisition and retention of donor partners, including the expansion of key relationships beyond only product donations. (For example, cause marketing partnerships, cash grant support, and similar.)
  • Present to existing and prospective partners Good360’s full portfolio of service offerings.
  • Work cross-departmentally to create innovative strategies that enhance development's key operations and maximize the impact of our partnerships.
  • Develop and implement prospect and donor engagement strategies, including identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
  • Build and manage a donor/prospect portfolio.
  • Seek and build connections within various functions in corporate partner organizations, including CSR/ESG, marketing, community relations, reverse logistics and supply chain.
  • Partner with Good360’s SVP of Impact Giving to identify opportunities for funding and other forms of support from corporate foundations.
  • Translate Good360’s mission and value proposition into strategies that align with donor companies’ own business and philanthropic strategies.
  • Effectively communicate and demonstrate Good360’s ability to develop business solutions for companies that also drive progress towards corporate sustainability and social impact goals.
  • Engage with internal colleagues to identify program opportunities and offerings to elevate in discussions with donors.
  • Contribute to program strategy development and opportunity identification.
  • Implement effective networking strategies to position Good360 as a trusted voice and strong steward of resources relevant to donors and prospects.
  • Leverage existing relationships and prior experience to drive multi-million dollar product donation programs.
  • Manage progress against key Good360 KPIs, including measures that reflect the amount and quality of product donated, number of new donations, and breadth of corporate partnerships.
  • Collaborate with internal Good360 teams to ensure the smooth and efficient movement of donated goods from companies to recipient nonprofits.
