Description: Reporting to the Senior Director of Major Giving, the Senior Manager, Mid-Level Giving will lead the growth and execution of the Food Bank's mid-level giving program, overseeing donors who contribute between $1,000-$9,999 annually. This role will help design and implement a comprehensive cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategy; strengthen and streamline systems; and personally manage a small portfolio of high-value mid-level donors. The Senior Manager will supervise and mentor a Mid-Level Giving Specialist, ensuring effective portfolio management and program execution. This position requires a balance of acumen, hands-on donor relationship management, and team oversight to drive donor retention, revenue growth, and a strong pipeline for major gifts. The mid-level donor universe includes approximately 3,500 donors contributing roughly $7M annually and is growing rapidly. Requirements

At least 6+ years of fundraising experience, including experience managing mid-level and/or annual giving programs.
Experience supervising or managing staff.
Demonstrated success developing and implementing donor giving programs with data-driven segmentation strategies to retain and upgrade donors.
Experience managing donor relationships, including cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding donors.
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging to diverse audiences.
Strategic and process-oriented thinker with strong project management and organizational skills, and the ability to translate strategy into actionable plans, while managing multiple projects and relationships.
Experience utilizing a donor database/CRM, with the ability to manage sensitive donor information and maintain confidentiality.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook and Excel.
High integrity, emotional intelligence, and the ability to represent the Food Bank with professionalism and enthusiasm.
Must have consistent and reliable transportation to travel to donor meetings, events, and other locations throughout the Greater Washington area.
Regular and punctual attendance is required.

Responsibilities

In partnership with the Senior Director, develop and execute a comprehensive mid-level giving strategy to cultivate, solicit, and steward mid-level donors giving $1,000-$9,999 annually.
Implement best practices in donor engagement, recognition, and communication, identifying opportunities for improved processes, efficiencies, and innovative approaches.
Design and refine donor segmentation approach based on giving history, engagement, and capacity to prioritize outreach, strengthen portfolios, and enhance the pipeline for major giving.
Analyze donor data and program metrics, sharing key insights with leadership to inform strategy effectiveness, guide decisions, and optimize revenue growth, retention, and gift upgrades.
Collaborate with leadership and cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of mid-level giving strategies with broader organizational communications, including direct marketing, planned giving, and major gifts.
Ensure donor communications and solicitations reflect organizational priorities, mission, and brand.
Stay informed of philanthropic trends and emerging strategies in mid-level giving programs to refine strategy and integrate new approaches.
Manage a portfolio of 50-100 high-value mid-level donors generating approximately $500,000 in annual revenue, ensuring personalized communication and high-touch stewardship.
Comfort with front-line relationship management, which can include donor meetings (in person, virtual, phone), volunteer experiences, and events to strengthen relationships and communicate impact.
Maintain accurate and timely donor records, portfolio activity, and moves management data in the CRM (Salesforce).
Supervise a Mid-Level Giving Specialist, providing guidance on donor strategy development and execution, performance feedback, and support for professional development goals.
Foster a respectful, inclusive, and collaborative team culture, encouraging knowledge sharing, team building, and cross-team communication.
Partner with HR and leadership to recruit, onboard, train, and retain fundraising talent when necessary.
