  • Lead a small and mighty team of data scientists and economists to focus on marketplace design, marketplace optimization, and long-term company growth, including pricing, policy, reporting, modeling, and strategic analyses.
  • Build a world-leading, principled virtual item economy to increase earnings and creativity opportunity for our community.
  • Partner directly with Marketplace leadership (product+eng) to advance principled and performant economic designs.
  • Lead a data-informed strategy leveraging expertise in experimentation, mechanism design, econometrics, and causal inference methods.
  • Expand self-expression and identity through refinements that increase item creation, item quality, and market discovery.
  • Partner with the broader data science teams on shaping and iterating the roadmap for data science products/platform.
  • Advanced Degree and/or PhD in Economics, Statistics, Physics, Cognitive Science or other quantitative field.
  • 8+ years of relevant industry experience, preferably with background in platform business, marketplace design, matching markets, or pricing systems.
  • 3+ years managing technical and strategic data science teams.
  • Depth in causal inference statistics and methods.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive product innovation in an area as a thought leader.
  • Ability to apply creative first-principles reasoning to solve ambiguous problems.
  • Ability to communicate analytic results and data storytelling to influence engineering teams and leaders.
