Role Overview The Senior Manager, Content System owns the systems, governance, and operational backbone that enable content to be discoverable, trusted, and measurable across Walmart Connect. This role is responsible for ensuring content is structured, governed, and managed effectively throughout its lifecycle—powering scale across vertical, industry, and sales enablement teams. This leader serves as the primary owner of content platforms and architecture, translating business and operational needs into scalable system design and governance models.

Requirements

  • 8–10+ years of experience in content management, enablement systems, marketing operations, or digital platforms.
  • Deep experience with Seismic or similar enterprise content/enablement platforms.
  • Strong understanding of content governance, taxonomy, and lifecycle management.
  • Proven ability to lead platform strategy in complex, matrixed organizations.
  • Excellent analytical, technical, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or related field and 3 years' experience in marketing or related field OR 7 years' experience in marketing or related field.

Responsibilities

  • Content Platform Ownership & Governance Own administration, optimization, and governance of Seismic and related content management and enablement platforms.
  • Define and enforce standards for content architecture, taxonomy, metadata, permissions, and version control.
  • Ensure content systems support enterprise requirements for brand, compliance, and data security.
  • Content Lifecycle Management Establish and manage lifecycle policies for content creation, review, publication, refresh, and retirement.
  • Partner with Editorial Operations to ensure content readiness and accuracy throughout the lifecycle.
  • Maintain system hygiene, including audits, cleanup, and archival strategies.
  • System Design & Integration Translate content and business requirements into scalable system configurations.
  • Partner with IT, Data, and Vendor teams to manage integrations between content platforms, analytics tools, and AI solutions.
  • Support Innovation initiatives by enabling technical scalability and adoption.
  • Discoverability & Enablement Optimize search, tagging, and content organization to improve findability and reuse.
  • Partner with Sales Enablement and Marketing Ops to ensure systems meet end-user needs.
  • Develop documentation, training, and best practices for platform users.
  • Analytics & Insights Build and maintain dashboards for content usage, adoption, and performance.
  • Use insights to inform platform improvements, governance updates, and roadmap prioritization.
  • Provide leadership with clear visibility into content health and impact .
  • People & Stakeholder Leadership Lead and develop content systems and enablement managers or analysts.
  • Serve as a key point of contact for platform stakeholders across Marketing, Sales, Vertical, and Industry teams.
  • Influence platform strategy and investment decisions at the leadership level.

  • San Bruno, California US-08848: The annual salary range for this position is $117,000.00 - $234,000.00Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
