About The Position

This role offers a strategic opportunity to lead a team of Machine Learning and Data Engineers, building scalable ML models and data pipelines to drive real-time risk and compliance decisions across multiple communication channels. You will partner with product and engineering leaders to execute a sophisticated AI/ML roadmap while ensuring operational excellence, reliability, and compliance. The position blends deep technical expertise in distributed systems with leadership responsibilities, guiding the team through mentorship, performance management, and career development. Success in this role will have a direct impact on product reliability, fraud prevention, and the overall trustworthiness of communications systems. Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 10–14+ years of experience in machine learning and data engineering.
• 5+ years of experience managing and leading engineering teams.
• Proven ability to ship and maintain ML models in production environments.
• Experience developing distributed systems and highly available full-stack applications.
• Expert proficiency in Python; familiarity with Java or Scala is a plus.
• Deep experience with ML frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or Keras.
• Experience with data tools like Kafka, Spark, Hadoop, Presto, and DynamoDB.
• Cloud expertise, particularly AWS (SageMaker, EKS, ECS).
• Familiarity with observability tools such as Datadog and Grafana.
• Strong communication, organization, and strategic decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of Machine Learning and Data Engineers, supporting professional growth and career development.
• Partner with Product Managers and Architects to translate business requirements into actionable ML solutions and long-term technical roadmaps.
• Oversee end-to-end execution of large-scale ML projects with operational excellence and reliability.
• Collaborate with data platform teams to build robust batch and real-time data pipelines.
• Work closely with fraud, compliance, and analytics teams to monitor, prevent, and mitigate risk across communication channels.
• Advocate and implement best practices for CI/CD, automated testing, model monitoring, and incident response.
• Manage team priorities, capacity, and tactical and strategic initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
