About The Position

Darigold is seeking a Senior Manager, Logistics & Warehouse to join our team. The Senior Manager, Logistics & Warehouse is part of the Supply Chain team and is responsible for the ongoing operational needs, goals and initiatives of the Logistics and Warehousing group. This position manages multiple third-party logistics (3PL) warehouse sites to deliver safe and efficient services on behalf of Darigold. As a member of the Supply Chain team, this leader is an advocate for sound business practices and is a change catalyst to deliver sustainable continuous improvement. The Senior Manager, Logistics & Warehouse develops improvement ideas for implementation as well as executes the ideas of others. This position requires close collaboration with all Darigold internal functions, including but not limited to: Sales, Legal, Internal Audit, Operations, Finance, Human Resources, IT and Supply Chain.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher, or relevant field experience in lieu of.
  • 5+ years of Logistics and Warehousing experience managing 3PL providers. Dairy/cold chain perishable goods industry experience is a plus.
  • 2+ years of experience leading direct warehouse operations.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office applications, especially Word and Excel. Excellent understanding of Oracle ERP and industry leading WMS systems.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
  • A self-starter and creative thinker who requires minimal supervision, able to handle multiple assignments and achieve goals and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle conflict while maintaining a calm, professional approach to understanding issues and facilitate getting all involved parties back on track towards a solution.
  • Demonstrated ability to be detail oriented while exhibiting sound and practical business judgment, focusing on achieving the strategic objectives.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and prioritization skills.
  • Executive presence and professionalism with the ability to crisply articulate positions and build rapport quickly.
  • A continuous improvement mindset with the ability to establish and implement robust standards.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to travel when needed.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the performance of assigned 3PL logistics and warehousing facilities and supporting individual site managers.
  • Interact with the Commercial team to communicate delivery and service needs from responsible facilities.
  • Work closely with planning and deployment to monitor and enhance facilities utilization.
  • Aid in the development of an inventory strategy for warehousing and delivery with a focus on overall customer service at the lowest cost.
  • Develop and maintain metrics/reports for logistics and warehousing.
  • Collaborate within the Supply Chain leadership team to establish Darigold best practice standards; ensure implementation & compliance to established standards within responsible facilities.
  • Create and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Implement EDI connectivity and ensure adequate traceability and functionality within partner WMS systems to comply with Darigold standards.
  • Manage and understand the department's expenses to within budgeted levels, including invoice approvals and supplies.
  • Work closely with other departments in the implementation of sales/production forecasting for customers.
  • Develop skills and capabilities of subordinate employees.
  • Maintain a professional working relationship with co-workers, customers and vendors.
  • Demonstrate a high degree of initiative and flexibility.
