The position involves identifying underlying risks in the Balance Sheet and providing insights to the CFO and Risk committee. The role requires ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and completeness of the General Ledger (GL), detecting inconsistencies, and rectifying any accounting errors prior to the book close window. The candidate must have an awareness and understanding of the wider business, economic, and market environment in which the Legal Entity operates. The role also includes working closely with Country Finance and R2R controllers to manage the Financial Controls & Risk function, ensuring smooth periodic reconciliation and substantiation exercises across the bank, and escalating exceptions or non-compliance to the department head and Country Finance. Additionally, the candidate will support day-to-day controls and periodic monitoring activities, timely identification and reporting of significant risks and losses, and the effectiveness of risk mitigation actions. Implementation of process controls and compliance monitoring measures is essential to ensure a robust financial control environment in the Bank. The candidate will also be responsible for embedding the Controllership and Reporting model, identifying and presenting Financial & Operational Risk to Senior Management through various Risk FORUMs, and supporting the CFO in the declaration/reduction of Group Queries.
