About The Position

What is the opportunity? The Senior Manager, Learning & Development (L&D) is responsible for building relationships with leaders across US Wealth Management to provide strategic guidance and deliver on learning needs for our programs, products, and tools. The Senior Manager drives the planning, creation, deployment, and tracking of comprehensive training and development programs by leading a high-performing team of learning and development consultants. What will you do? Collaborate with department heads, managers, and subject matter experts to identify learning priorities, modalities, and content gaps Build and maintain strategic partnerships with Enterprise business units, compliance, HR, and IT to align learning content with regulatory and strategic requirements beyond US Wealth Management Lead strategic planning and oversight of training content and learning resource development initiatives Provide strategic direction to content development teams on curriculum frameworks and learning resource design Oversee development of innovative learning resources across multiple modalities (e-learning, job aids, simulations, knowledge bases, reference guides, videos, and others.) Champion innovation in instructional design methodologies and content development approaches Develop metrics and measurement frameworks to assess effectiveness of learning content and resources Analyze learning resource utilization, learner feedback, and performance outcomes Create reporting mechanisms to demonstrate L&D impact on organizational capability and business results Use data-driven insights to inform content development priorities and continuous improvement (inclusive of recommendations to sunset aging content) Set team standards, best practices, and quality benchmarks for content development and resource creation Guide team prioritization and project management to meet organizational needs Foster collaborative team culture focused on innovation, creative problem solving, continuous improvement, and knowledge sharing Provide strategic direction, coaching, performance feedback, performance management, and career development support to direct reports Serve as escalation point for complex content development challenges and solutions Take learning leadership role on strategic initiatives as assigned, playing a consultative role in early project planning through project/content delivery (may include new products/programs, direct support of an audience-based initiative, etc.) Develop and execute comprehensive training and development strategy for Field and Client Support Services (FCSS) teams in partnership with FCSS leaders What do you need to succeed? Must-Have Four-year college degree or equivalent experience 7+ years of leadership experience, preferably in the Learning & Development Ability to lead, inspire, persuade and hold accountable a team of high-performing individuals Excellent relationship builder with the ability to influence others in a matrixed organization An understanding of adult learning theory and principles An understanding of and experience with authoring tools (particularly Articulate 360 and Adobe Creative Suite) and Learning Management Systems (Workday Learning a plus) Familiarity with and experience in ADDIE Ability to assess data related to team success metrics Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Nice-to-Have 5+ years financial services or investment industry experience Master’s degree in learning design-related program What’s in it for you? The expected salary range for this particular position is $90,000-$160,000, depending on your experience, skills, and registration status, market conditions and business needs. You have the potential to earn more through RBC’s discretionary variable compensation program which gives you an opportunity to increase your total compensation, provided the business meets its performance targets and you meet your individual goals. Requirements

  • Four-year college degree or equivalent experience
  • 7+ years of leadership experience, preferably in the Learning & Development
  • Ability to lead, inspire, persuade and hold accountable a team of high-performing individuals
  • Excellent relationship builder with the ability to influence others in a matrixed organization
  • An understanding of adult learning theory and principles
  • An understanding of and experience with authoring tools (particularly Articulate 360 and Adobe Creative Suite) and Learning Management Systems (Workday Learning a plus)
