About The Position
The Senior Manager of Landfill Gas & Liquid Operations is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining programs related to the strategy, design, construction, operation, optimization, and compliance of the Company's landfill gas and liquids collection treatment and management infrastructure. This role is crucial in assisting the Field, Area, and HQ operations, as well as the environmental and engineering teams, in assessing wellfields, designing, constructing, and operating landfill gas and leachate collection systems. The Senior Manager provides technical support, design guidance, and oversight of capital expenditures to both internal and external technical teams regarding landfill gas and liquid issues at Company-owned facilities. In this position, the Senior Manager will collaborate with various teams, including Engineering, General Managers, Environmental Managers, and local operation teams, to develop and execute landfill gas and liquids extraction projects across assigned sites. The role involves identifying and assessing project opportunities, driving improvements in gas flow management and leachate management, and performing ongoing evaluations of capital spending to ensure appropriate investment. The Senior Manager will conduct periodic site visits to support field operations, provide guidance, and direct companywide initiatives aimed at improving landfill gas and liquids extraction processes. Additionally, the Senior Manager will provide subject matter expertise to identify and drive cost savings in landfill gas and liquids extraction, partner with engineering teams to determine best practices for the design of liquids and gas management systems, and maintain oversight of vendor spending to align with companywide goals. Regular reporting to Corporate Operations leadership on project status, spending, and cost reduction opportunities is also a key responsibility of this role. The Senior Manager will perform other job-related duties as assigned or apparent, ensuring that all operations align with the company's commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility.
