About The Position

This is where your work makes a difference. At Baxter, we believe every person—regardless of who they are or where they are from—deserves a chance to live a healthy life. It was our founding belief in 1931 and continues to be our guiding principle. We are redefining healthcare delivery to make a greater impact today, tomorrow, and beyond. Our Baxter colleagues are united by our Mission to Save and Sustain Lives. Together, our community is driven by a culture of courage, trust, and collaboration. Every individual is empowered to take ownership and make a meaningful impact. We strive for efficient and effective operations, and we hold each other accountable for delivering exceptional results. Here, you will find more than just a job—you will find purpose and pride. Your role at Baxter As the Senior Manager of IT supporting Baxter’s Cardiology business, you’ll lead a small, distributed team responsible for keeping five U.S. sites fully operational and equipped with the technology they need to serve patients and internal stakeholders. This is a hands‑on leadership role where you’ll guide a team of IT specialists, manage day‑to‑day operations, and dive into technical challenges yourself when needed. You’ll oversee a broad IT landscape—including infrastructure, networking, cybersecurity, cloud hosting, business applications, and end‑user support—ensuring reliability, responsiveness, and a seamless experience for employees. This role offers the opportunity to elevate and modernize the IT function within a growing business. You’ll build the roadmap, strengthen partnerships with corporate IT and business leaders, and identify opportunities to improve tools, processes, and service delivery. As Cardiology continues to integrate with Baxter’s Front Line Care division, there may be opportunities for expanded scope and responsibility for someone who excels. This is an on‑site role based in Bellevue, WA, with occasional travel to other U.S. locations.

Requirements

  • Experience managing a small IT team, including conducting 1:1s, performance reviews, and developing talent.
  • Ability to perform hands‑on technical work when needed, with a willingness to dive deep into new technologies and complex problems.
  • Excellent communication skills and strong executive presence, with the ability to present clearly to senior leaders and influence without authority.
  • A customer‑obsessed mindset focused on ensuring the business remains fully operational and supported 24/7.
  • Flexibility to occasionally work off‑hours for upgrades, maintenance, or issue resolution to avoid business disruption.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to operate independently with minimal oversight.
  • Prior experience managing budgets, technology investments, and vendor relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of 5–6 IT specialists across five U.S. sites, providing coaching, performance management, and staffing decisions.
  • Oversee daily IT operations to ensure all employees remain fully supported and business‑critical systems stay up and running.
  • Set team objectives, manage priorities, and ensure timely execution of operational and project deliverables.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal business partners to understand needs and anticipate IT requirements.
  • Partner closely with corporate IT to align on standards, policies, security requirements, and enterprise initiatives.
  • Review team deliverables—including configurations, testing, and documentation—to ensure quality and compliance with regulatory and security standards.
  • Manage the IT budget, including forecasting, vendor coordination, and technology investment planning.
  • Research, evaluate, and implement new tools, technologies, and services that improve efficiency, security, and user experience.

Benefits

  • Baxter offers comprehensive compensation and benefits packages for eligible roles.
  • Our health and well-being benefits include medical and dental coverage that start on day one, as well as insurance coverage for basic life, accident, short-term and long-term disability, and business travel accident insurance.

  • We also offer Flexible Spending Accounts, educational assistance programs, and time-off benefits such as paid holidays, paid time off ranging from 20 to 35 days based on length of service, family and medical leaves of absence, and paid parental leave.
  • Additional benefits include commuting benefits, the Employee Discount Program, the Employee Assistance Program (EAP), and childcare benefits.
