About the position

The Senior Manager, IT Integrated Planning & Intake is responsible for supporting PG&E’s business vision by improving service quality, increasing capabilities through the deployment of application and infrastructure projects by providing a framework that will support all stakeholders, product and project teams to improve the probability of successful delivery. The Senior Manager provides executive management & business clear insights into the drivers of business, financial, and compliance performance and risk. Aids in business plan deployment, investment planning and regulatory support. Manages day-to-day activities to ensure organization goals and requirements are met with both Planning/Prioritization and Project Intake. Collaborates with and manages cross functional teams to provide end-to-end program support, operational financial support and analysis & governance. Provides leadership for those involved in the development, implementation, maintenance, support, and operations of PG&E's systems infrastructure and applications. The Senior Manager is responsible for implementing new technology, reducing costs, increasing productivity, and facilitating organizational and business effectiveness through enabling technologies. This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and the Oakland General Office (OGO) 1-2 days a week and or based on business needs.

Responsibilities

  • Manages a team to ensure the successful fulfillment of IT development and service delivery commitments.
  • Oversee all aspects of the budgeting, forecasting, and reporting processes - ensure accuracy and predictability of results and key metrics to enable planning our investment strategies with measurable outcomes, risks and assumptions.
  • Oversee centralization and organization of siloed datasets and systems to deliver insights cross-functionally.
  • Oversee and support regulatory strategy, planning and testimony preparation.
  • Oversee the design and delivery of reports and insights that analyze business functions and key operations and performance metrics.
  • Analyzes portfolio financial performance and recommends changes to achieve goals; uses reporting tools to monitor portfolio activities, and regularly brief IT and business leaders on portfolio performance to enable investment strategies for planning up to 10-year horizons.
  • Liaise closely with Finance and other Business Units to ensure accurate & robust budget monitoring.
  • Develops relationship across IT and our business units, with the goal of growing meaningful relationships that will facilitate collaborations and communications.
  • Achieve results through others by setting and communicating goals and metrics, monitoring progress; providing ongoing coaching and feedback, and reinforcing behaviors that drive high performance.
  • Manages the assessment of risks and the execution of plans to mitigate the risks.
  • Communicates and champions the requirements necessary to execute the IT investment portfolio.
  • Develops and manages service level agreements with business partners.
  • Develops, prioritizes, coordinates and communicates the goals and processes necessary for implementing the investment portfolio and critical programs/projects.
  • Ensures compliance to Standards/regulations and governance processes.
  • Ensures staff has the resources and skills needed to support all programs/initiatives/projects.
  • Establishes individual and department objectives that are aligned with organization goals.
  • Implements PG&E practices for staffing, EEO, diversity, performance management, development, reward and recognition, and retention.
  • Manages the identification, analysis, valuation and execution of system investments for program/project delivery and support operations; manages the execution of technology roadmaps.
  • Proactively engage with cross functional leadership to identify opportunities for business improvement and optimization.
  • Support the team who manages state and federal rate cases and regulatory proceedings (GRC, TO, RAMP, and others) planning, and testimony development for IT as it relates to Planning/Prioritization of IT investments.
  • Support and drive interdependency with the team who defines and implements ongoing processes to support integrated regulatory planning.
  • Oversight of the IT line organizations to understand roles and responsibilities, process, content, deliverables and timeframes around rate case planning to ensure alignment with Planning/Prioritizing IT investments.
  • Oversight of the research and studies for utility industry practices and/or benchmarks with industry peers to better support case and company position.
  • Ensures processes and tools to ensure IT regulatory plan is aligned with organizational goals and vision and IT roadmaps are aligned to regulatory requirements.
  • Manages the assessment and mitigation of risk. Analyzes, prioritizes and consolidates this risk and assesses its potential impact to the organization/business as well as on each project individually and within the program as a whole.

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Computer Science or job-related discipline or equivalent experience.
  • 6 or more years of experience in IT strategy planning and/or program management or other related area required.
  • Ability to influence business leadership and management decisions and drive ownership and acceptance of change to the business.
  • Ability to translate complex business requirements into IT solutions.
  • Ability to estimate the financial impact of IT decisions.
  • Excellent analytical and technical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with Financial Planning & Analysis.

  • Demonstrated ability to explain necessary trade-offs and balances between immediate and tactical needs or issues with PG&E leaders.
  • Capability to track program/project benefits realization and lessons learnt activities to feed into ongoing improvements.
  • Experience leading teams, people, projects, and developing people and their careers.
  • Organized, strategically focused, detail oriented, and able to deal with ambiguity in a constantly evolving environment.
  • Highly collaborative, able to work cross-functionally; possessing the ability to forge relationships and partner effectively.

Benefits

  • Salary range: Bay Area Minimum: $159,000, Bay Area Maximum: $271,000.
  • Eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs.
