About The Position

Pfizer is seeking a Senior Manager of Integrated Insights and Strategy (IIS) that will join a brand-aligned team of internal consultants and brand strategists that partner with senior commercial leaders, as well as internal GCA (Global Commercial Analytics) COEs, to maximize business value and enable executional excellence. Reporting to the IIS Rare Heme/Endo Team Lead, this person will be responsible for designing and executing best-in-class primary market research to represent the “voice of the customer” in support of the strategic recommendations of the team. This person will be accountable for a >$1M market research budget and be responsible for proactively identifying business questions, creating learning plans to address those questions, designing and managing multiple simultaneous research initiatives, and delivering clear and actionable insights-based recommendations. As a member of the IIS team in the larger Global Commercial Analytics (GCA) organization at Pfizer, you will work with a team that is an important source of intellectual insight on commercial brand strategy, framing business problems in a way that the business can then execute to drive impact and unlock value. Specifically, IIS is responsible for identifying and developing opportunities in performance to unlock brand value and to advise the business on drivers of transformational change. IIS harnesses insights from multiple sources across GCA, leading day-to-day problem solving, team management, and business partner management. IIS leverages their deep functional knowledge, exceptional intellectual curiosity, and proprietary GCA tools to every business interaction, while managing and developing strategic relationships and ensuring the highest quality work, and inspiring, leading and developing new IIS colleagues. The ideal candidate is someone with a proven track record of high-value brand consultancy, responsible for framing, designing & executing primary market research solutions for challenging business situations. They will have an in-depth knowledge of multiple research methodologies, with a keen understanding of output and quality/timely insight derivation. Their team orientation and collaborative approach, along with their outstanding listening skills and ability to manage through influence, will enable their exceptional intellectual and analytical curiosity to shine. Their sophisticated executive demeanor and comfort functioning with brand leaders along with their excellent presentation skills, including strong verbal and writing capabilities, will drive their success. Global Commercial Analytics (GCA) harnesses the power of data to drive robust analytical insights that inform some of Pfizer's most critical business questions. This role will work closely with senior business stakeholders in the Chief Marketing Office (CMO) organization and other organizations within Pfizer, act as a strategic partner and drive performance tracking and reporting for commercial performance, including product performance outcome reporting, executive dashboard, omnichannel engagement activities, and reporting, etc. This role will also lead the efforts in standardizing and centralizing the commercial reporting eco-system and help implement industry best practices in performance reporting and insights generation processes. This role is dynamic, fast-paced, highly collaborative, and covers a broad range of strategic topics that are critical to our business. The successful candidate will join Performance Analytics team within Global Commercial Analytics colleagues worldwide that are dedicated to helping drive business through proactive thought leadership, innovative research capabilities, and the ability to communicate complex and dynamic information in new and creative ways

Requirements

  • BA/BS in Marketing, Psychology, Mathematics, Statistics, or Engineering or similar related field required; MS or MBA preferred.
  • 6+ years in consulting, market research, or market analytics
  • Defined involvement in helping frame, design & execute solutions for challenging business situations
  • In-depth knowledge of multiple innovative research methodologies in the context of the pharmaceutical industry with a keen understanding of output and quality/timely insight derivation
  • Proven track record of being an indispensable thought partner to brand leaders and influencing without authority
  • Team-orientation and collaborative approach; outstanding listening skills and the ability to manage through influence

  • Fluent in English (written and spoken)
  • Strong Analytical, coding skills (such as: Python, R, SQL, etc.), MS Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Strong reporting and analytical skills to be able to synthesize and validate various inputs, and ability to communicate “the story” to commercial leadership
  • Known subject matter expert for quantitative and qualitative market research methodologies
  • Extensive experience in the design and management of secondary data analytics
  • Previous demonstrated experience in using innovative techniques to monitor, simulate and analyze complex data sets preferred
  • Ability to assess and direct vendor technical capabilities and manage risks in the analytic process
  • Ability to be flexible, prioritize multiple demands, deal with ambiguity, and lead teams through complex and challenging cross-functional projects
  • Recognized expertise and coach to others on connecting, integrating, and synthesizing analysis into a meaningful ‘so what’ to drive clear strategic recommendations and enable commercial decision making
  • Proven ability to act as a strategic partner with the capacity to quickly establish relationships of trust, credibility, and be seen as a driving partner to senior leadership
  • Ability to identify, prioritize and describe relevant caveats and uncertainties in data, including how they relate to the business question and broader strategic priorities

Nice To Haves

  • MS or MBA preferred.
  • 8+ years’ experience in Biopharma, analytics, strategic consulting, business, or related area
  • Masters preferred in a quantitative discipline

Responsibilities

  • Brand Strategy Provide strategic thought partnership to US and Global commercial teams to drive insights-based decisions.
  • Act as strategic partner to frame, investigate, and answer key business questions related to the identification and evaluation of commercial strategies and tactics, using primary market research.
  • Design and execute innovative market research studies, serving as voice of the customer for the brand strategy team.
  • Develop and execute creation of in-house knowledge base to drive patient and HCP insights.
  • Promotional Performance and Execution Insights Develop and monitor key performance metrics to evaluate and enhance the effectiveness of a brand’s marketing campaign.
  • Recommend campaign improvement and corrective actions.
  • Evaluate campaign assets to ensure optimal customer experience steeped in deep customer insights.
  • Collaboration with other Analytics Teams Actively contribute to advancement of team capabilities through thought leadership; seek to share knowledge and expertise with other colleagues making use of knowledge sharing platform.
  • Commercial Performance Reporting & Tracking • Provide thought partnership in building and standardizing commercial reporting eco-system
  • Act as strategic partner to frame, investigate, and answer key business questions related to organization wide performance reporting, including executive reporting.
  • Lead identification of information needs and development of project plans to address those needs
  • Develop and execute creation of in-house dataset to drive patient and HCP insights into infrastructure of care
  • Connect reporting insights together to tell a compelling and persuasive story and deliver clear and actionable recommendations to senior leadership
  • Alignment with other GCA teams to ensure cohesive activities with our stakeholders
  • Lead dialogue to adapt global strategies and standardization of performance metrics and tracking
  • Partner with other analytic functions to advance the use of novel data sources and reporting, including RWD, Data Science, etc.
