Requirements

  • Customs broker license
  • 10-12 years of experience in trade controls and trade operations
  • 8-10 years of experience in HS classification, COO and customs valuation and FTA
  • Strong understanding of US import regulations and Partner Government Agency requirements
  • Strong understanding of Duty Savings programs e.g. Chapter 98, TIBs, etc.
  • Ability to distill complex trade compliance concepts and issues into simpler key elements and communicate these effectively
  • Ability to think critically, work independently and prioritize workload
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills
  • Superior analytical, organizational, leadership and problem solving skills
  • Ability to lead/participate in cross-functional projects
  • Project skills; including analytics, implementation strategies, metric measurement and continuous monitoring expectations and deliverables.
  • Ability to interpret engineering documentation (e.g., drawings) and understand bills of material.
  • Proficient in various MS applications to facilitate analysis, presentations, process improvements and quality
  • Hands-on Experience with ERPs (SAP)

Responsibilities

  • Ensure timely preparation and accurate response to US Customs broker requests for all Siemens Healthineers business units.
  • Ensure timely and accurate response to US Census requests for all Siemens Healthineers business units
  • Ensure proper classification, valuation, origin determination and application of FTA for the imported goods, including non-commercial goods.
  • When applicable, communicate with US government officials on import related matters.
  • As directed by Supervisor/Manager, implement appropriate corrective actions in response to any findings within our internal or external organizations.
  • Interface with related functional areas (regulatory affairs, logistics, purchasing, materials management, etc.) on customs and participating government agencies matters.
  • Provide timely support as required for compliance internal review and give other assistance necessary to address findings, to include corrective action implementation and follow up reviews.
  • Support the Trade Compliance and business units’ organizations in strategically assessing their processes and procedures to ensure proper documentation at the time of import and export.
  • Provide reporting on duty mitigation programs as requested
  • Provide subject matter expertise to interpret and advise on regulatory matters
  • Diligently and professionally manage other tasks, projects and/or responsibilities as assigned and/or delegated by the ECC management team.
