About The Position

The Senior Manager II, Data Engineering at Toyota will lead the Data Analytics and Data Science team, focusing on Master Data Management (MDM) across various domains such as Customer, Vehicle, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain. This role involves overseeing the strategic direction, implementation, and management of data engineering products, ensuring data quality and integration to support business objectives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data engineering, management, and analytics, with proven leadership skills to drive cross-functional teams and initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 15+ years of experience in data management, data analytics, MDM, and Agile with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Proficiency in MDM tools and technologies, data analytics platforms, and data governance frameworks.
  • Familiarity with Cloud Technologies and Platforms (AWS Experience Preferred).
  • Experience with data storage technologies like relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL), NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra), and data lakes.
  • Proficiency with data engineering tools and technologies such as SQL, Python, Spark, Airflow.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree is preferred.
  • Relevant certifications in MDM, data management, or data analytics are a plus.
  • AWS / Cloud Certifications.
  • Experienced in working in an Agile environment with SAFe.
  • Experienced with Reltio or other Master Data Platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and grow a team of data engineers, ensuring their professional development and high performance.
  • Develop and execute Data Engineering strategies aligned with business objectives.
  • Manage projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget.
  • Manage funding and budgeting for Data Engineering initiatives, ensuring optimal allocation of resources and financial oversight.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices in MDM.
  • Utilize data analytics to derive actionable insights and support decision-making processes.
  • Oversee the secure and efficient transfer of data across systems and platforms.
  • Implement processes and technology solutions to improve data quality, accuracy, and completeness.
  • Design, implement, and maintain scalable data architectures to support data-driven business processes and analytics.
  • Evaluate and integrate new technologies, tools, and frameworks to continuously improve the data engineering ecosystem.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for Data inquiries, projects, and initiatives.
  • Build strong relationships with business stakeholders to understand data needs and requirements.
  • Establish and enforce data governance policies and standards to ensure data quality and compliance.
