About The Position

From the exceptional service at the check-in counter to the departure gate, and even behind the scenes making sure your checked bags arrive with you, our Airport Operations team keeps operations at our airports running smoothly every single day. Responsible for managing station finances, resource planning, and business partners for airport operations at DEN (Denver International Airport) including long and short-term planning for staffing and related bids, overtime allocations and headcount authorization. Primary responsibilities are to develop, guide, account for and analyze station financial performance; develop, justify and track capital expenditures; ensure proper financial controls; and to administer invoice and procurement processes, receivables processes, cash management processes, inventory processes and many other station specific procedures. Provides planning and administrative services to internal customers, including the Hub Leadership Team and front-line employees. Leads and motivates a team of finance and resource planning co-workers by providing work tools and training to enhance their technical and operational skills. Develops, leverages and implements best practices processes and technology to improve service to internal customers and enhance productivity.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or 4 years of relevant work experience
  • 2+ years financial accounting experience
  • 2+ years financial or operating expense statement variance analysis experience
  • 2+ years experience building employee staffing models
  • 2+ years experience in building business cases (financial return on investment)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to engage frontline co-workers
  • Ability to lead and sustain continuous improvement and process changes as needed
  • Team leadership experience
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Understanding of capital planning processes
  • Understanding of invoice, receivables and cash management processes
  • Understanding business partner work; wheelchair, cabin cleaning, aircraft fueling, facility cleaning, and baggage handling
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
  • Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
  • Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position

Responsibilities

  • Develop, guide, account for and analyze station financial performance
  • Develop, justify and track capital expenditures
  • Ensure proper financial controls
  • Administer invoice and procurement processes, receivables processes, cash management processes, inventory processes and many other station specific procedures
  • Provide planning and administrative services to internal customers, including the Hub Leadership Team and front-line employees
  • Lead and motivate a team of finance and resource planning co-workers by providing work tools and training to enhance their technical and operational skills
  • Develop, leverage and implement best practices processes and technology to improve service to internal customers and enhance productivity
  • Development of annual operating plan and monthly financial reporting and forecasting; overseee approximately $0.2B annual budget
  • Develop and deliver 1 – 3 year workforce strategic plan for DEN staffing, including analysis of anticipated attrition, retirements and employee proficiency in roles
  • Evaluate and streamline local employee schedule processes, including “day of” manpower delivery to leadership, active oversight of all overtime related expenses and maximizing employee communication and engagement with resource planning team
  • Financial administration management, including invoice processing, cash management, receivables processing and inventory monitoring and order processes - Financial controls / audits
  • Hire, lead and develop a manager/supervisor team of professionals
  • Provide ongoing senior leader updates on the status of individual department budgets as well as progress on key cost management initiatives
