About The Position

The Senior Manager, HV&E, Solid Tumors will support the strategic goals of the Oncology Division by driving optimal patient access for our medicines. This role directly impacts the ability to achieve business objectives on a global basis by providing strategic guidance and robust evidence development to achieve optimal patient access. This role will focus on demonstrating the value of an innovative therapy being studied for the treatment of multiple solid tumors. The role will be responsible for developing and executing against the global evidence generation strategy, including direct oversight of evidence generation activities and dissemination of technical deliverables. This role will be part of Pfizer’s dynamic Global Access & Value (GAV) team and will have the important role of managing health economics and outcomes research (HEOR) to generate data to support patient access. This position will be working closely with the GAV, cross-functional, and country teams to foster a culture that promotes innovation and thrives on doing better for Pfizer’s patients and healthcare.

Requirements

  • Candidate demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact.
  • Master’s degree (MSc, MPH) in HEOR-relevant field such as health services research, health economics, epidemiology, pharmacy administration/pharmaceutical policy, or other research-focused public health field.
  • Doctoral degree (PhD, DrPH, ScD, PharmD) in relevant fields preferred.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience with PhD/DrPH/ScD/PharmD; minimum of 5 years of experience with MS/MPH; minimum of 6 years of experience with a Bachelor’s degree, in early development, clinical trials, patient reported outcomes, and real world study design and implementation is desirable
  • Demonstrated understanding of fundamental health services research methods (e.g., health economics, patient-reported outcomes, research study design, database analyses, epidemiology, and statistics) and external environmental trends influencing health care/pharmaceuticals in key markets worldwide
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects involving complex processes, significant budget, competing deadlines and rapidly shifting priorities
  • Excellent interpersonal skills required; ability to understand and respond to multiple internal and external customers and influence in a matrix environment
  • Excellent oral and written English communication skills required
  • Strong project management abilities (e.g., contracting, budgeting, vendor management) essential
  • Skilled in functioning within a matrix organization where managing through influence is required

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge and experience in the oncology therapeutic area is highly preferred along with experience with solid tumor products
  • Experience with various real-world data types and sources and a publication track record of working with these sources is preferred
  • Experience interacting with country teams and knowledge of global HTA requirements and HTA organizations (e.g., NICE, GBA, HAS, CDA, PBAC, ICER) and other access-related stakeholders (e.g., US pathways).

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic input into clinical trial designs (eg, patient populations, comparators, endpoints) and analysis plans to enable successful negotiations, reimbursement, and appropriate patient access with global payer and regulatory decision makers.
  • Develop and execute the clinical outcomes assessment strategy and incorporate humanistic and economic endpoints into clinical trials across all phases of product development to build comprehensive trial-based evidence aligned with overall asset strategy and to ensure global reimbursement and access requirements.
  • Help to develop and execute the Value & Evidence Strategy (VES) to support the value of this innovative therapy in close partnership with the cross-functional matrix team and local country/regional teams.
  • Lead the design and execution of global HEOR studies (eg, network meta-analyses, non-interventional studies, economic models) from concept through publication.
  • Lead the timely development of reimbursement deliverables to successfully support reimbursement and access requirements in conjunction with the regions/countries.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to ensure appropriate customer-facing dissemination of HEOR materials.
  • Develop strategic partnerships and research collaborations with key external experts, healthcare policy makers, payers, and various academic and community oncology settings to support asset strategies.
  • Remain fully compliant with all Pfizer SOPs (standard operating procedures).
