Senior Manager, Global Corporate Funding is an individual‑contributor role focused on the securitization of primarily credit card portfolios. The role leads day‑to-day execution and strategy for credit card trust issuances, partnering closely with the business, treasury, and capital markets teams while engaging directly with rating agencies on annual reviews, new ratings, and structural enhancements. It also plays a key governance role, collaborating with risk officers to ensure new proposals move through the appropriate approval channels. Ideal for a collaborative, curious, and diligent professional with 7–10 years of treasury or capital markets experience and a strong interest in securitization and structured finance, this high‑visibility position offers frequent interaction with investors and external stakeholders, broad cross‑organizational exposure, and strong opportunities to build influential networks, without a direct people‑management requirement. Supports the strategic and tactical management of the Bank’s global term funding, securitization, and capital issuance programs. Minimizes Bank funding costs while broadening the debit investor base to ensure the Bank is well-funded to support the growth objectives and competitive positioning. Identifies and recommends actions to senior leaders based on market trends or regulatory developments to ensure the Bank is at the forefront of an optimal global funding platform. Provides strategic input into business decisions as a trusted advisor. Makes recommendations to senior leaders on strategy and new initiatives, based on an in-depth understanding of the business/group. Acts as a subject matter expert on relevant regulations and policies. Networks with industry contacts to gain competitive insights and best practices. Leads the design, development, and program management of effective corporate funding strategies & tactics for the business / portfolio strategy. Acts as primary relationship manager for the Corporate Funding management center of expertise. May own the relationship with internal & external stakeholders. Defines business requirements for analytics & reporting to ensure data insights inform business decision making. Designs and produces regular and ad-hoc reports, and dashboards. Leads change management programs of varying scope and type, including readiness assessments, planning, stakeholder management, execution, evaluation and sustainment of initiatives. Leads the development of the communication strategy focusing on positively influencing or changing behaviour. Collaborates across BMO to develop communications strategies and ensure consistency of messaging, in order to positively influence or change behaviour. Leads the design, development, and program management of effective corporate funding strategies & tactics for the business / portfolio strategy. Provides leadership and advocates for corporate funding initiatives / programs, securitization and capital issuance programs from approval through execution. Partners with senior leaders to support the development and management and execution of the Bank’s securitization and capital markets global funding programs and issuance. Supports development of the securitization & funding strategy over a multi-year plan horizon to optimize the funding strategy while maintaining compliance with legal / regulatory requirements. Develops and recommend strategies to expand the Bank’s investor base and global market access. Recommends and executes debt marketing activities in support of initiatives and oversees development of marketing materials including directly engaging with prospective and current investors to expand the Bank’s global funding capabilities. Partners with Capital Management Group to structure and execute capital productivity transactions (i.e. risk transfer transactions). Recommends optimal transaction pricing, term, and size for funding programs / solutions including capital, senior note and structured product issuance e.g. credit card, HELOC, mortgage, Covered Bond, Canada Mortgage Bond, and mortgage backed securitizations. Advises various stakeholders on the risks, financial implications and technical aspects to ensure alignment and agreement to plans/programs. Monitors the market environment and mismatch and basis market risk metrics to ensure the Bank’s structural market risk management activities add incremental value and hedging strategies are effective. Provides subject matter expertise and contact for external investment dealers looking to discuss and execute securitization and capital market funding opportunities for the Bank. Develops and maintains expertise in all regulations, directives and guidance which apply to the Corporate Treasury group, including interpreting regulations and understanding emerging issues; ensures that BMO FG remains compliant with all external regulations. Builds effective relationships with internal/external stakeholders. Breaks down strategic problems, and analyses data and information to provide corporate funding insights and recommendations. Monitors and tracks performance and addresses any issues; Gathers and formats data into regular and ad-hoc reports, and dashboards. Calculates a forecast of the bank’s structural cash position, calculates liquidity metrics, and total loss-absorbing capacity (TLAC) position to inform and optimize funding strategy decisions. Operates at a group/enterprise-wide level and serves as a specialist resource to senior leaders and stakeholders. Applies expertise and thinks creatively to address unique or ambiguous situations and to find solutions to problems that can be complex and non-routine. Implements changes in response to shifting trends. Broader work or accountabilities may be assigned as needed.
