About The Position

The Warehouse Senior Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of warehouse operations, including inventory management, staff supervision, logistics, safety, compliance, and process optimization. This role ensures the efficient and cost-effective operation of the warehouse while maintaining a focus on customer satisfaction and achieving Supply Chain Organization goals. Schedule: Monday - Friday Hours: Full-time Weekends and holidays as needed Essential Functions Operational Management Plan, direct, and coordinate warehouse activities to meet Intermountain Health’s objectives. Oversee receiving, storage, inventory control, and shipping processes to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment. Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) to enhance efficiency and quality control. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and report operational metrics to senior management. Team Leadership Lead, train, and motivate warehouse staff to foster a culture of productivity, safety, and accountability. Manage employee schedules, performance reviews, and development plans. Resolve operational challenges and ensure clear communication among team members. Customer Focus Maintain focus on customers, ensure issues are resolved quickly. Works with senior leaders to establish appropriate expectations and requirements. May be required to work outside of normal business hours to support customer and business needs. May be required to take on-call coverage during nights and weekends to provide access to critical supplies. Inventory and Logistics Management Oversee inventory accuracy through regular cycle counts. Collaborate with procurement and logistics teams to optimize supply chain processes. Manage relationships with facilities, control tower demand planning, and transportation providers. Safety and Compliance Ensure compliance with DEA and FDA rules and regulations. Ensure compliance with OSHA and other applicable regulations. Develop and enforce safety policies and training programs. Working with Corporate Safety and Employee Health, investigate and address workplace incidents or injuries. Financial Management Develop and manage the warehouse budget, including labor, equipment, and materials. Optimize warehouse layout, space utilization, and resource allocation. Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising service quality.

Requirements

  • Leadership and Team Management: Ability to lead, inspire, and manage a team, including hiring, training, and performance management.
  • Fulfillment Center Expertise: In-depth knowledge of safety compliance, state and federal regulations, operational processes, and workflow dynamics associated with fulfillment center operation.
  • Planning and Execution: Skills in developing and implementing plans to meet production goals.
  • Project Management: Proficiency in managing multiple projects, including planning, scheduling, and resource allocation.
  • Customer Service Excellence: Ability to develop and maintain high standards of customer service, addressing inquiries and resolving issues.
  • Technological Proficiency: Knowledge of warehouse management system (WMS) software and Microsoft Office Suite Tools.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with staff, suppliers, and stakeholders.
  • Change Management: Skills in managing and implementing changes within the department to adapt to evolving needs, technologies and workflows.
  • Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make informed decisions to fulfillment center operations and resolve issues
  • Ability to safely operate lifts, order pickers, and other warehouse equipment.
  • Successful track record in building strong relationships with key stakeholders, coupled with effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Experience in financial analysis and managing operational budgets.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience with a focus on lean/continuous improvement practices, cross-functional team organization, goal setting, and staff development.
  • Computer experience including working knowledge of Microsoft Office Tools.
  • Experience in fulfillment center operations: Knowledge of warehouse best practices, continuous improvement concepts, warehouse management systems (WMS), and team leadership.
  • Experience working with a Warehouse Management System (WMS).

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree, degree must be obtained through an accredited institution: OR six years of industry specific work experience working within a distribution center / warehouse role: OR a combination of 6 years education and work experience in a distribution center/warehouse.
  • Five years of work experience and knowledge in distribution of medical supplies and equipment.
  • Three years of supervisory or management experience in a warehouse environment.
