The FSQA Senior Manager-Suppliers will be responsible for managing Tyson Foods approved supplier locations to ensure the established quality and food safety standards are being met per all relevant GFSI standards, USDA, FDA and other regulatory guidelines established for food manufacturing. Specific responsibilities include assessing Supplier’s suitability and readiness for understanding and manufacturing to Tyson requirements and to ensure consistent conformance to specifications, regulatory requirements and food safety guidelines. Other specific responsibilities include analyzing and resolving food safety or quality issues, monitoring and tracking KPI’s related to food safety and quality, making data based production disposition. This position will manage innovation and project support issuing specification deviations as appropriate; conducting routine food safety and quality audits of assigned facilities; reviewing and ensuring compliance of all applicable government food regulations ensuring supplier FSQA documentation within FoodLogiQ is accurate and meets defined standards. This position will serve as a food safety, regulatory and quality resource for Tyson’s Procurement, Contract Manufacturing team as well as R&D and Business Units. This position requires a working knowledge of diverse plant processes and regulatory requirements as well as the development of working relationships with Business Managers, R&D, Procurement, Contract Manufacturing team and other cross functional teams. Other specific responsibilities include oversight of the budget as it relates to controllable costs; travel, and other duties or special projects assigned by Associate Director; conducting food safety and quality audits/reviews at supplier locations and verifying appropriate and timely corrective actions are implemented; enforcing current good manufacturing practices (GMPs) and all relevant company policies and food safety regulations at Tyson Foods suppliers; assist and engage with internal foreign material reduction initiatives for supply chain. Lead teams focused on investigation and improvement of quality/food safety issues such as supplier complaints, specification deviations, and/or processing challenges. Collaboratively work with Tyson and co-manufacturing facilities as well as internal partners such as R&D and Procurement to manage the food safety and quality expectations for suppliers through the approval process and ongoing approval conformance. Assist in the implementation of supplier management tools necessary to manage the incoming documentation and regulatory requirements.
