As Senior Manager, Food Systems Resilience, you will be a strategic leader within the global sustainability team, responsible for strengthening the adaptability and resilience of our food systems across the value chain. You will lead supply chain risk assessments, drive Scopes 1 and 2 sustainability strategies, identify and scale Scope 3 reduction approaches, and develop long-term, customer-centered solutions for value chain transformation and systems change. The candidate will be expected to be a strategic leader who can develop a list of levers and prioritize based on impact, investment, cost savings for the organization and other dimensions. Likely focus areas will be on high emissions categories including beef, dairy, proteins and transportation. They will need to define and operationalize food system resilience at Sysco as the ability to anticipate, withstand, and adapt to disruptions across our value chain. This includes ensuring supply continuity for key commodities, advancing regenerative and sustainable agricultural practices, mitigating packaging and waste risks, and strengthening supplier/customer partnerships to build long-term stability. In this role, you will work cross-functionally and across all levels of the organization to see out into the future when it comes to sustainability risks and opportunities. You will be responsible for building strong relationships across internal and external stakeholders—including suppliers, NGOs & industry groups/coalitions, and industry peers—to drive initiatives, share insights, and promote systems thinking.
