Requirements

  • Deep federal legislative and regulatory know-how.
  • Proven track record working with Congress, NHTSA, FMCSA, and various trade associations.
  • 10+ years of experience in federal government relations or public policy.
  • Familiarity with Autonomous Vehicle (AV) policy and the trucking industry.

Responsibilities

  • Cultivate and maintain relationships across Congressional offices and committees, and federal Agencies (with a focus on USDOT, NHTSA and FMCSA).
  • Execute on Waabi’s key legislative and regulatory goals and build awareness and understanding of Waabi’s technology and business.
  • Monitor and lead engagement with Congress on all major legislative initiatives impacting Waabi. Ensure Waabi's priorities are integrated into any relevant federal legislation including via direct lobbying.
  • Monitor key federal rulemakings, and lead the internal drafting of all relevant regulatory submissions.
  • Represent Waabi in-person at all major DC-based events (including industry events, Congressional hearings and markups, regulator forums, etc).
  • Serve as the point of contact for all federal policy matters, reporting key developments and strategic recommendations to the Head of Policy.
