Requirements

Deep federal legislative and regulatory know-how.
Proven track record working with Congress, NHTSA, FMCSA, and various trade associations.
10+ years of experience in federal government relations or public policy.
Familiarity with Autonomous Vehicle (AV) policy and the trucking industry.

Responsibilities

Cultivate and maintain relationships across Congressional offices and committees, and federal Agencies (with a focus on USDOT, NHTSA and FMCSA).
Execute on Waabi’s key legislative and regulatory goals and build awareness and understanding of Waabi’s technology and business.
Monitor and lead engagement with Congress on all major legislative initiatives impacting Waabi. Ensure Waabi's priorities are integrated into any relevant federal legislation including via direct lobbying.
Monitor key federal rulemakings, and lead the internal drafting of all relevant regulatory submissions.
Represent Waabi in-person at all major DC-based events (including industry events, Congressional hearings and markups, regulator forums, etc).
Serve as the point of contact for all federal policy matters, reporting key developments and strategic recommendations to the Head of Policy.
