Join our incredible team at Royal Caribbean Group as a Senior Manager, External Communications. This full-time position, based in Miami, Florida, will support the Corporate Communications department with incident/risk and issues management communications. The role involves project management, media relations support for financial communications, and serving as a company spokesperson. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, deadline-driven, and possess solid media relations contacts in the vacation, travel & leisure, and cruise trade publications.

  • Lead and manage communications alignment projects from start to finish.
  • Drive adoption, engagement, and interaction across departments for alignment tools.
  • Continuously update a master communications calendar and support team members.
  • Prepare briefing materials, presentations, and reports for internal meetings.
  • Streamline processes, implement best practices, and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Manage incident and risk communications, working with senior stakeholders.
  • Represent the department as a communications leader on cross-disciplinary teams.
  • Draft communications materials and engage with media directly.
  • Monitor the corporate communications team's email inbox and respond to media inquiries.
  • Use analytics and data to evaluate and drive communications strategies.
  • Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, Public Relations, English or related field preferred.
  • At least 10 years of professional experience in media relations and corporate incidents/issues risk management.
  • Exceptional track record of working effectively with the media.
  • Proven operational excellence within teams to drive cross-departmental alignment.
  • Experience working in small teams in reputation-threatening circumstances.
  • Knowledge and adherence to AP style.
  • Bilingual (Spanish) a plus.
  • Impeccable executive presence and strong ability to interact with senior executives.
  • Superior time management skills.
  • Ability to foresee reputational risks and opportunities.
  • Proactive, independent, and takes initiative.
  • Proficiency in distilling complex subject matter into clear content.
