About The Position

Reporting to the Director, Learning & Development, Yoga Alliance is seeking a Senior Manager, Ethics & Safety to join its team. The Senior Manager, Ethics and Safety is responsible for overseeing the credentialing process, ensuring compliance with all related policies, and managing the administration of safety, ethics, and compliance for Yoga Alliance's credentials. This vital role ensures that Yoga Alliance's credentialing procedures adhere to legal and ethical standards, provide training on ethical conduct and compliance requirements, and address concerns or complaints regarding credentialing practices. The Senior Manager will collaborate with internal teams and subject matter experts to create training materials, continually improve credentialing processes, and ensure that compliance standards are maintained across the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Communications, Human Resources, Business, Law, Ethics, Public Administration, or Health and Safety).
  • 7+ years of experience including a minimum of 5+ years' experience in developing and implementing credentialing, ethics, and safety policies and practices within a professional or regulated environment, preferably in a non-profit, association, or membership-driven organization.
  • 5+ years of experience in a similar and/or related role that involves leading, facilitating, and resolving complex issues around compliance and ethics.
  • 3+ years of experience leading, coaching, and developing a team remotely.
  • 2+ years of experience in designing, building, and implementing operational excellence (processes, practices, tools, and resources) that is user friendly, easy to apply, and considers multiple important facets (legal, mission, values).
  • Prior experience with credentialing procedures and understanding and applying legal requirements, and ethical standards.
  • Skilled in facilitating difficult conversations and conflict resolution.
  • Exercises a high degree of confidentiality and discretion, professionalism, integrity, diplomacy, ethics, and objectivity in approach to work and with relationships.
  • High level of attention to detail and follow-through; thrives on delivering results and bringing matters to a conclusive close.
  • Excellent skills in collaboration, communications, judgment and decision making, problem solving, and project management.
  • Experience working effectively and collaboratively within a fast-paced environment among a diverse employee base that works remotely and distributed across the United States.
  • Experience working within and actively contributing to workplaces committed to diversity, equity, inclusion, accessibility, and belonging.
  • Strong technology skills with an aptitude to learn quickly to ramp up on new platforms or technology.

Responsibilities

  • Coach and develop a team of Learning & Education Specialists; provide clear and impactful feedback; conduct 1:1 meetings, collaborate to define and set goals, and scheduled performance engagement and development feedback sessions.
  • Provide training and guidance to team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture focused on continual learning and a robust feedback loop.
  • Manage and oversee the credentialing process, ensuring that all practices comply with relevant policies, legal standards, and ethical guidelines.
  • Develop and refine procedures for credentialing, case reviews, and compliance investigations.
  • Ensure that credentialing data is accurate, up to date, and properly documented.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to develop and deliver training on ethical conduct, safety, conflict of interest, and ethical decision-making for members.
  • Investigate and resolve any ethics or safety concerns or complaints raised by members and the public related to credentialing and compliance.
  • Address cases related to the code of conduct, scope of practice, sexual misconduct policy violations, and other ethical or safety concerns.
  • Work closely with service teams and legal teams, and cross-functional groups to resolve complex issues.
  • Maintain detailed records of compliance activities, audits, and investigations related to credentialing and safety.
  • Prepare and deliver regular reports on the status of compliance, risks, and recommended improvements to leadership.
