A day in the life of a Senior Manager, ESG Reporting at VF looks a little like this. You will lead VF’s E&SR reporting strategy across voluntary and regulated disclosures. In this role, you’ll manage a team that collects and validates ESG data, produces external reports and survey submissions, and builds scalable processes to meet emerging regulatory requirements (including the E.U. Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD)). You’ll collaborate closely with partners across Legal, Finance, HR, Supply Chain, and our brands to ensure reporting is accurate, consistent, and aligned to leading standards. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 7+ years of experience and professional achievements are required.
  • Strong knowledge of voluntary reporting frameworks and evolving regulated reporting requirements.
  • Working knowledge of leading standards and programs such as ISSB, GRI, CDP, and related frameworks (experience with ESRS/CSRD is a plus).
  • Ability to translate complex requirements into clear plans, timelines, and deliverables; strong project management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to collaborate effectively across functions and levels.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional work and influence without direct authority.
  • Experience building strong internal and external relationships (e.g., auditors/assurance providers, consultants, raters).
  • Comfort using (and experimenting with) generative AI and other tools to improve efficiency and quality.
  • Ability to travel up to 30%.

Responsibilities

  • Lead planning, project management and publication of VF’s regulated and voluntary E&SR reporting; ensure report content aligns to leading standards and best practices (e.g., ESRS, GRI, SASB, TCFD, UNGPRF).
  • Strengthen E&SR data governance to support assurance, disclosure research, internal communications, and training.
  • Oversee key external disclosures and surveys for VF and its brands (e.g., CDP Climate/Water, Corporate Human Rights Benchmark, KnowTheChain, Gender Benchmark).
  • Partner with Legal and Finance to build and maintain governance processes for regulated and voluntary reporting and disclosures.
  • Track, analyze and improve VF performance in priority investor E&SR ratings (e.g., MSCI, ISS E&S QualityScore, Sustainalytics), including leadership reporting, analyst engagement and controversy responses.
  • Oversee priority NGO, supplier, industry and media ratings (e.g., 100 Best Corporate Citizens, Fashion Transparency Index, Ethical Fashion Report).
  • Build strong partnerships across Brands, Regions and Enterprise Functions (Legal, HR, Finance, Supply Chain, etc.) to align on an E&SR reporting strategy that supports VF’s business strategy and meets stakeholder, investor and regulatory expectations.
  • Serve as the global subject matter expert for voluntary and regulated E&SR reporting; stay current on trends, best practices and emerging requirements.
  • Monitor and interpret E&SR reporting laws and guidance; partner with internal and external counsel as needed.
  • Lead global regulated reporting compliance programs, including a CSRD-aligned Double Materiality Assessment, in partnership with the E&SR Controller and VP of Ethics & Compliance.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing team: hire, onboard, coach, and support performance and growth; ensure the team structure and resources meet business needs.
