This leadership position provides oversight of scientists and engineers performing crosscutting environmental research and developmental activities within the Environmental and Legacy Management (ELM) Directorate at the Savannah River National Lab (SRNL). The Manager will support professional skills growth for employees and promote personnel visibility to maintain and assist the Earth, Biological and Quantitative Systems Science Division Director to develop new customers and capabilities. Perform managerial activities for approximately 20 technical staff, including salary administration, subcontracts, performance reviews, and career development. Provide day-to-day supervision and policy enforcement of all assigned personnel. Ensure that adequate resource/staffing are available to meet customer needs and forecast future staffing and critical skills needed to support existing and new programs. Model performance of job and research activities demonstrating safe conduct of research principals and maintain secure office and laboratory environments. "We put science to work!" Additionally, ELM is using our competencies to develop new materials and processes for a range of clean energy applications.
