About The Position

As the Senior Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Manager, you will serve as a strategic leader driving environmental and safety excellence across our North American manufacturing operations. This role places a strong emphasis on environmental stewardship, regulatory compliance, and sustainability, while also ensuring a proactive safety culture and effective workers’ compensation management. You will collaborate closely with field operations to identify and mitigate environmental and workplace risks, implement robust EHS policies and systems, and lead initiatives that enhance operational resilience and reduce environmental impact.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Industrial Engineering and Chemical Engineering (Master’s preferred).
  • 8–10 years of progressive EHS experience in manufacturing, with at least 3 years in a senior or multi-site leadership role.
  • Strong working knowledge of environmental regulations and occupational safety standards (OSHA, EPA, NFPA, etc.).
  • Proven experience managing workers’ compensation programs and driving injury reduction strategies.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills.
  • Ability to travel extensively across North America.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the magnet wire industry or similar wire manufacturing environments.
  • Professional certifications such as CSP, CIH, or CHMM.
  • Familiarity with ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and IATF standards.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local environmental regulations, including EPA, OSHA, and other relevant agencies.
  • Lead environmental compliance efforts across all manufacturing sites, ensuring adherence to federal, state, and local regulations including EPA, Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, RCRA, and other applicable standards.
  • Lead environmental audits and permitting activities, while collaborating with corporate marketing to drive sustainability initiatives across multiple manufacturing sites.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive safety and environmental programs—while continuously updating existing initiatives—to foster a zero-incident culture and drive ongoing improvement.
  • Conduct risk assessments, incident investigations, and root cause analyses to drive corrective actions and prevent recurrence.
  • In partnership with the Human Resources Team, manage workers’ compensation claims, coordinate with insurance providers, and implement cost-reduction strategies.
  • Design and support return-to-work programs and injury prevention initiatives tailored to manufacturing environments.
  • Collaborate with plant managers, human resources managers and site operations teams to ensure consistent execution of corporate EHS policies and standards.
  • Provide coaching, training, and technical guidance to local EHS personnel and operational leaders.
  • Monitor EHS performance metrics and lead cross-functional initiatives to improve compliance and reduce operational risk.
  • Travel approximately 50% to manufacturing facilities across North America to conduct audits, deliver training, and support local teams.
