About The Position

Oversee the Universal Orlando Resort (UOR) EHS Training program. Manage and communicate the plan for delivery and facilitation of company specific EHS and regulatory training for all UOR Team Members. Research, develop, and customize learning solutions to support UOR EHS regulatory learning plan to meet established annual departmental and company goals. Directly manage the UOR EHS Training team to achieve best team performance. Maintain strong client working relationships with every level of the organization, as well as external training vendors.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university in safety management, or other related field is preferred; or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • 7+ years of training management experience related to training and management of training processes required.
  • Regulatory Understanding and Interpretation: Experience understanding, interpreting, and applying standards of practice and adapting those standards to the learning environment inclusive of documentation, identification of mechanisms to evaluate knowledge transfer and retention and classroom presence.
  • Management System: Direct day to day oversight of Training function strategic planning, scheduling, internal and external communications, performance measurement, conformance validation, liaise with cross functional business lines.
  • Plan and organize processes and teams of people, maintain schedules, develop and communicate summary reports to executive levels of the business.
  • Read and interpret OSHA and/or International regulations and consensus standards

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the delivery and facilitation of structured safety and regulatory training, development programs, and initiatives in support of the company’s learning plan, objectives, and brand essence. Training sessions shall include in-person or virtual classroom, demonstrative (hands-on), and select online curriculum.
  • Review the development and update of EHS Training materials to ensure quality and conformance with UOR and/or Global EHS Standards and local regulations.
  • Forecast EHS Training requirements and strategically coordinate course offerings and staff to meet the established goals, expectations of the business, and local regulations.
  • Identify EHS Training needs based on work task exposures, trends, and compliance requirements.
  • Identify competent and or qualified internal and external resources to deliver all training courses to Team Members.
  • Build the Train the Trainer (TTT) process for expanding the Trainer bench to EHS and select departmental trainers to develop competent EHS Trainer resources.
  • Validate EHS Training documentation processes to include training content, knowledge assessments, demonstrative evaluations (where applicable), sign-in rosters, etc. and report EHS Training conformance to meet local regulation, UOR, and Corporate expectations.
  • Report out to business partners on EHS Training conformance, including successes and challenges, and seek solutions to achieve company goals.
  • Take action to ensure the role functions cohesively and in alignment with the whole of the site EHS function. Communicate a single EHS vision and mission with one set of established goals and objectives. Support and collaborate with all EHS peer leadership related to resources and communications for clarity of message with business partners.
  • Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
