Position Summary Responsible for managing all aspects of environmental, health, and safety for Ultra Maritime. Works in coordination with site, division and head office resources to ensure the safest possible work environment and to minimize the environmental impact of the business. Work with site leadership to build a safety culture and create an environment that focuses on physical well-being. Job Description ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for maintaining optimal environmental, health, and safety conditions for multiple locations Develop and implement health and safety accident-prevention programs Audit, analyze and report the site’s environmental activities to be consistent with the industry’s best practices and government compliance Implement new and manage current plant health, safety, and environmental programs Build relationships with employees and train them on EHS program procedures and best practices Lead the monthly safety Gemba walks through the work areas with a focus on continuous improvement of safety Safety incident review and processing – coordinate with HR for worker’s comp Prepare and send out “toolbox talks” (safety messages and reminders) bi-weekly First Aid Kits – check and inventory on a regular basis and restock as needed Organize and lead monthly safety meeting Gather data and complete monthly and annual metrics/reporting Conduct new hire environmental, health and safety training Work with production, quality and others to help evaluate manufacturing equipment use and operator processes. Assist with training for safe production processes. Responsible for staying in compliance with EEO, ADA and all other applicable governmental requirements the company is required to be in compliance with. All staff is required to take reasonable care for their own health and safety by adhering to established safety policies and procedures, to not willfully place at risk the health or safety of any individual and to wear personal protective equipment as specified in work instructions.
