Requirements

• Bachelor's degree (or equivalent practical experience) required.
• 2-4 years of grant writing or general development experience.
• Exceptional writing, editing, and copy editing skills.
• Excellent verbal communication skills, both in person and online/by phone.
• Proven research abilities, including gathering and interpreting data; funder prospecting experience desirable.
• Experience with Microsoft Office, Salesforce and Google Apps for Business.
• Capacity to attend key external meetings as an organizational representative when needed.

Responsibilities

• Identify and research national corporate funding prospects to assess interest in providing long-term funding support across campuses or for national initiatives within budget.
• Support relationships with major national corporate funders providing support at levels of $100K-$5M.
• Synthesize national program information from program staff and Salesforce database to articulate goals, activities, anticipated outcomes, successes, challenges, etc. to corporate funders for national initiatives.
• Help prepare for and may attend funder meetings: developing meeting memos, drafting site visit agendas and coordinating among key participants, documenting interactions in Salesforce and supporting follow-up.
• Coordinating communications to funders after initial meetings and maintaining detailed notes on initial conversations for cross team collaboration.
• Continuously track and monitor opportunities, funder deadlines and deliverables, and ensure timely submissions of proposals and reports.
• Maintain detailed records of all conversations with potential funders in Salesforce.
• Coordinate with communications staff to publicize grants and other corporate engagement activities to advance philanthropic relationships.
• Other duties as assigned.
